My dd is 13 and ds 10 and, as it turns out, have two of the most popular names you can imagine for children of their age! I don't know how we managed that because they were not particularly common names when they were born, but 5 years on and they were surrounded by children with the same names at school Confused.

Dh and I have incredibly common names too, I am sure top 5 for the years we were born.

Anyway, if I were to have a baby this month I think I would name a girl Zinnia or Susannah and a boy Jonathan.

Although i haven't completely finished my family, pg with DD1 after four DS's but had i been pregnant with another son he would have been called either: Leigh or Edward/Eddie!

Miriam Alice.

I am a little sad that I will never have my Miriam. But I have 3 children and really don't want another one, I just want a few snuffly newborn days . Dh is booked in for his vasectomy so really isn't on the cards.

I don't know what I'd call another boy. Probably Edward.

I already have a Hugh my little hughbaloo. Well, he is 8 now so not very little.

I would like a Tom please. And a Fred.

SomethingkindaOod · 16/01/2014 10:19

Mallory for a girl (DH flatly vetoed that one last time)
Matthew for a boy - when DS was born there were so many Matthews around we decided against it, I still love the name though.

Weirdly we decided on a name for DD2 that we thought was quite unusual. Since then I've found out that it's highly likely she will go to school with at least one more, possibly 2!

I love seren for a girl. It's star in welsh. I also love hepsibah although I realise that might be a bit much for most people. My little girl like the name Rosie. If we had been able to have a third child I probably would have chosen Rosie. Boys names I like oscar, Benedict.

thoughtsbecomethings · 16/01/2014 03:57

Martha for a girl
Idris for a boy

emmyloo2 · 16/01/2014 02:48

Gosh this is hard. I have only just finished having my children so their names are still quite fresh for me. But if I was to have another baby the names would be:

Boy
Albert or Arthur

Girl
Henrietta or Esther

WheresTheHoneyMummy · 15/01/2014 23:50

Troy, Logan or Hunter for boy.
Amelia, India-Rose or Bonnie for a girl.

Love this thread!

TheOriginalNutcracker · 15/01/2014 23:43

Ruby Louise, or Aiden Joseph

morethanpotatoprints · 15/01/2014 23:41

What a fantastic thread.

DD 10 - would have called her Emmeline Rose. She doesn't have a middle name and she isn't Emmeline.

DS2 19 - would have called him Harry, but didn't because of Royal association/ people thinking it was because of Royal name.

DS1 22 - Not sure, happy with his name but he does have a Royal name and is the reason we couldn't call ds2 Harry.

My advice would be not to go too unusual or whacky, the child has to live with it.
Choose bloody Harry if you like and sod what others say or think Grin

VworpVworp · 15/01/2014 23:38

Murdo is fab! I'm stealing that one...

tassisssss · 15/01/2014 23:34

If we'd have a fourth it would have been Harrison Murdo (the name that got away as we have girlies) or probably Sophie something, maybe Sophie Hope or Sophie Joy

shabbs · 15/01/2014 23:28

Im 57 now and have had four DS's (and have one GSon).

I have totally run out of boys names Grin but would probably be a traditional name like all my 4DS's. Love the name Ethan though.

A girl I think she would have to be called 'howthehelldidthathappen' ........ I think she would be Bella which was my Grandma's name and would make my Dad very, very happy xx
