Girls name Ottilie

I don't really post here as my dcs are 8 and 6, however my dd said a new girl joined her Brownie pack last night called 'Ottilie'.

I've never heard the name before so looked it up. It's of German origin, meaning 'rich'. I really like it. I thought it may be of use as an idea for someone looking for a girls name.

It's a bit ottery for me. I like otters but wouldn't name a child after one.

Sorry, I'd never heard it before let alone seen in on MN. I almost wish I'd heard it when naming my ddGrin

Very pretty. Like that a lot, it's going on my list! Thanks harryhausen.

I really like it. A friend's dd has this as her middle name.

I really like it, I thought it sounded French though. Like Odile and Odette

It is quite popular on MN. I prefer 'Ottilia', as it retains the German pronunciation in English.
