Opinions on our shortlist - Sadie, Sally or Cindy

Just that really. DD2 due in a few weeks and the above names are our shortlist. At the moment I keep rotating as to which is my favourite but thought I'd throw it out there to the mn jury for opinions.

Not interested in other suggestions - it's definitely going to be one of those three!

Sadie out of the three.

bassingtonffrench · 08/01/2014 13:04

They are very different to one another!

Sadie for me though

mrsbug · 07/01/2014 23:35

I know two sallies in their 30's and none in any other age group.

Also know of a cat called sally, their other cat is harry Grin

squoosh · 07/01/2014 23:28

Or Sally Cinnamon

YouGrateMyCheese · 07/01/2014 23:21

I'm a bit surprised too, DawnOfTheDee! I wouldn't think enough girls were given the name Sally at any one time to deem it dated, but I know everyone has their own frame of reference. And yes! I've always loved how many great songs feature the name. You could sing Lay Down Sally to her at night. :)

Me too, twighlightsparkle Thanks

Twighlightsparkle · 07/01/2014 22:35

Love love love sally

DawnOfTheDee · 07/01/2014 22:32

That's our thinking YouGrateMyCheese. Really surprised it's getting so many 'dated' comments.

It's used in loads of cool songs too which i like Smile

Ahem My name is Sally and I'm under 30, so we do exist! It's a great name: easy to say, easy to spell and easy to remember. You'd be hard-pressed to find a name that's so universally recognized and yet so rarely used.

mum2jakie · 07/01/2014 22:17

I love both Sadie and Sally. Wouldn't use Cindy because of the doll.

Floralnomad · 07/01/2014 22:11

South east , surrounded by Labradors and Goldie's all called Sally ,Cindy ,Molly ,Bella and Max .( there are several of each! )

Mrscupcake23 · 07/01/2014 22:08

I think all those names are really dated. I can't think of anyone under forty with any of those names,

somedizzywhore1804 · 07/01/2014 20:58

Sadie. Currently 14 weeks and if baby is a girl that's her name.

Sally is frumpy and Cindy is horrible.

DuchessofKirkcaldy · 07/01/2014 20:51

Sally
Sadie
Cindy
In that order.
The only Cindy I know uses it as a nickname for Cynthia.Lovely lady though

TheFutureSupremeRulersMum · 07/01/2014 20:45

Sadie

mrsbug · 07/01/2014 20:42

I like Sadie. Sally is ok but I think of it as a name for someone my age (30s), not a baby. Don't like Cindy.

BunnyLebowski · 07/01/2014 20:42

Sadie.

Sally is dated and boring and a real middle aged woman name and Cindy is just terrible.

KatOD · 07/01/2014 20:40

Love Sally and Sadie, not keen on Cindy.

scratchandsniff · 07/01/2014 20:40

I like Sadie, Sally is OK but I really don't like Cindy.

RockinAroundTheXmasTreeHippy · 07/01/2014 20:39

Sadie is the best, don't like either of the others at all

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/01/2014 20:37

I like Sally. I even like Cindy, though I suspect most people on here will dislike it. I like it because of a Jesus and Mary Chain song, though I think it's Sindy in the song (which I prefer)!

I hate Sadie, sorry.

DawnOfTheDee · 07/01/2014 20:32

squoosh Is it wrong that your description is making me like the name more.... Grin

Whereabouts are you Flora....?

WhenWhyWhere · 07/01/2014 20:27

Sally or Sadie are nice but I really don't like Cindy

Floralnomad · 07/01/2014 20:21

Sadie ,although all 3 are very popular with Labradors where we live .

squoosh · 07/01/2014 20:19

I like Sadie
I like Sally

Then way down here in a 1970's Texan suburb we have Cindy. She likes daytime TV, perving at the poolboy and popping uppers and downers. Probably best to leave her put for now.

Riprap63 · 07/01/2014 20:11

Cindy - Beale connotations.

Sally, Sadie ok.
