I like this for my baby due in March. It has a family connection but I'm concerned that it might be seen as a bit dated. All opinions gratefully received...

foodaholic: In the same vein, Jean is my current favourite for a girl, nn Jeannie.

Splendid name. High King of Narnia! I would give him a more unusual middle name though, and try to think of a nn that isn't Pete.

Flossiechops · 07/01/2014 06:54

Dull from dullsville imho

buttercrumble · 07/01/2014 06:46

I love Peter! Hate the nn Pete though but judging by how some teenage boys address each other, 'Pete' could be one of the better names!

foodaholic · 06/01/2014 22:15

I agree. I see it as a classic name and have veered away from super trendy or popular names with my other DC. Those are the kinds of names I like too ohbehave. I actually don't know if its a boy so need to think of girl options too. Really can't decide on that either so might start another thread soon Smile

I love it. I only know one and he's about ten I think.

This is the kind of name I like though. My list was all the other names like this, classic and not trendy, maybe dated to some, but I think there is a difference between Peter and say Brian and Derek. I like Robert, Richard, Dominic, Nicholas, Patrick and David too.

TKKW · 06/01/2014 12:37

Another Yes! Lovely and timeless

snowed · 06/01/2014 12:16

Lovely classic name.

Rooners · 06/01/2014 08:44

I like it, but I have one myself Smile

We have had very little in the way of Peter Rabbit presents, surprisingly!

Lots of people have liked his name and he was the only one throughout primary school which was quite useful (not so useful if he had been notorious)

MsJupiterJones · 06/01/2014 08:37

The one I know (30s) has a more unusual middle name which he uses instead of his first.

SS3J · 06/01/2014 08:32

My daughter (2) has a friend called Peter. He is a lovely boy. It's not really to my taste but I think it's a nice choice. Not too old-man sounding, but not used much at the moment. You will get A TON of Peter Rabbit merchandise given to you though!

RoadToTuapeka · 06/01/2014 01:23

I have one, he is almost one! I liked it when I named him and I love it now. There is a family link but mainly I just liked it. Quite a few people have commented positively. Not dull at all imo! I only know a few other Peters and they are all 38 or older.

southerngirl25599 · 06/01/2014 01:14

I don't like it, sounds a bit dated and bland

DramaAlpaca · 06/01/2014 00:37

I like it. It must be due a revival.

YoungBritishPissArtist · 06/01/2014 00:30

I like it. Doesn't sound dated.

KareKare · 06/01/2014 00:25

I went to school with Peters (and Richards, Marks and Stephens) in the 80s.

It seems really dated to me.

goshhhhhh · 06/01/2014 00:18

Love it!

diddlediddledumpling · 06/01/2014 00:05

I have one, aged 2. Love it. (Gave him an unusual middle name to make up for such a 'dreary' first name [wink ])

BunnyLebowski · 06/01/2014 00:00

What Piper said.

It's just so dreary.

fairisleknitter · 05/01/2014 23:57

I know one, a 13 year old.

It's a good name especially if you have a family connection.

PiperChapman · 05/01/2014 23:43

Sorry but its rather dull and old fashioned IMO

UriGeller · 05/01/2014 23:29

Its sweet, I think of Peter Rabbit.
