Irrational dislike of a name?

I have an irrational dislike of the name Katie. I think its due to Katie being so commonly used where I live that when a name is announced, it is almost surprising if it doesn't contain the name Katie. Yet I quite like the name Kate/Cate.

Anybody else have dislike one name but like something very similar?

most very popular names are quite soft sounding.

I hate lewis but I like louie/louis but you're right it does sound a bit wet! I also dislike Charlotte.

Louis. I hate HATE the Louie pronounciation. It sounds so horrifically wet.

Nicholas - I just hate the sound of the word. I imagine a Nicholas to be being someone who tucks their shirt into underpants and has trouser legs flapping three inches above their ankles.

Craig - sets my teeth on edge
surnames as first names (Ryan, Dexter and the ilk)
crystal, diamond and names like that

double barrelled names, especially for boys - why would you do that

I don't like names that are spelled different to the more common way. So I like Lucy but Lucie makes my teeth itch, same with Molly/Mollie, Katy/Katie, Amy/Amie, Jack/Jak, James/Jaymes etc. I'm pretty sure they must spend a lifetime correcting the spelling when it's different to what is expected.
I also don't like names that are female versions of male names so Toni,Terri, Lesley, Michaela although I like Philippa and Georgina.

I don't like Louise, but like Louisa. I dislike Helen (especially as I was bullied by one at school), but Helena is quite nice.

Joshua makes me cringe. Boring.
A lot of MN favourites that belong in the 19th century make me cringe, too.

Wayne, Shane or Duane names type names. I HAVE to say them like dwwwwaaaaaaaannne in a whiny voice with a long 'A'.

My DD has a Duane in her class and I can't help but giggle.

Any name with 'ine' or 'ina' - Georgina, Pauline, Maureen, Christine. And Patrick I cannot stand, no idea why.

Most double barrelled first names, particularly when combined with blended rather than 'proper' double barrelled surnames eg. Sammie-Jo Smith-Taylor.
Unusual names or spellings that could be pronounced in different ways eg Kyron - have come across 1 that was Kye-Ron and the other was Key-Ron, got it wrong both times.

Any name that begins with a K or a hard C.
Surnames used as first names.
Misspelt names - not quirky just ignorant.

Olivia. It reminds me of the colour olive. I really don't like it, although I appreciate that it is quite irrational and it's probably a perfectly nice name.

Not sure that it is irrational, but surnames for first names (Parker Evans etc) and the names of a job - Tyler Taylor Bricky...

Any names with Mae, May, Maisie stuck on the end. It just sounds so twee (no offence meant, personal opinion only).
