Third baby due soon. Sisters Abigail and Bethany. Which do you prefer... Arthur or Albert if boy? What if girl? Thanks!

Agree with a C name! ABC!

Arthur is better than Albert, but I don't think either go with your daughters' names. Something like Miles, Matthew, Thomas, Euan would go better imo.

For girls: Leah, Rachel, Louisa, Melissa, Caroline, Julia, Cecilia, Emma.

Jessica / nn Jess, would fit nicely with your older DDs.

Thirdtimemum3 · 29/12/2013 20:43

Hmmmm a third name is so hard! What about Rosie?

I would expect a Lauren after those two names. For no very good reason.

LondonNinja · 29/12/2013 19:38

Oops, sorry, not keen on either boy names. I know two young ones (one of each) but I'm not convinced.

toobreathless · 29/12/2013 19:37

Not a big fan of either Albert or Arthur, I think they will date in a way your older girls names won't. I prefer Albert but wonder if it's a bit similar to Abigail?

Cora for a girl.

soontobeslendergirl · 29/12/2013 16:11

Miriam or Mabel for a girl

I prefer Albert but see the nn issues - but then with Arthur you would have Arty maybe and I don't know if that is any better

What about Edgar? or maybe Halbert, then you could have Hal or Bertie if Bethany becomes more of a Beth?

Ham69 · 29/12/2013 15:53

I know 3 siblings named Hannah, Bethany and Abigail though if Harriet is the middle name that is not helpful!
Love Harriet by the way.
How about:
Polly Harriet
Lucia Harriet
Clara Harriet
Esther Harriet

Thirdtimemum3 · 29/12/2013 11:31

Hmmmm great suggestions everyone thank you. I guess the problem is we call the girls Abi and Betty/Beth so Albert is probably not suitable as Alby and Bertie (my preference) are too similar even when I guess that Beth will be more commonly used in the future when she's older. My family don't seem to think this is a problem but I think maybe it is...

On the girls' front we'd have Harriet as a middle name as it's my sister's name, so I'm pleased that's been suggested. I think it's beautiful. Thanks for all the other suggestions for her first name (if it is a she!), keep them coming!

I just hope Arthur isn't becoming too popular but I guess it's still not a top 10 name for the time being anyway...
