Family dont like name me and DP love does it matter?

I'm not going to post the name yet as i just want opinions on the situation rather than the name first lol.

But it definatly different but without being "urgh" lol but they are basing thier opinions on people they know with similar sounding names.

but my point is lol, should i let it bother me what other people think? at the end of the days its our choice and our decision??

(i will post the name in due course lol)

since telling my partner that some of my family dont like it he has since said it makes him like it even more lol (he gets on fine with my family, just doesnt like to be 'influenced)

Nobody likes my dds name

Especially my mother!

Dd still got given the name.

Dm still hasnt got used to it (dd is 14 month) and hates people asking her what dd is called!

Don't tell anyone the name you decide until baby arrives, presented as a fait accompli seems to make people slightly more guarded in their response! What matters is that you as parents love the name you choose.

It is entirely up to you if you listen to what anyone says about the name, sometimes they have a valid point and sometimes they don't.

It only matters if it matters to you iyswim. Family not liking it would bother some people. If it doesn't bother you, all well and good. Go for it.

This is why many people advise against telling anyone the name before your baby arrives though!
