Could be a boy or a girl.
What do you all think of Gloria for a girl?

Congratulations!

Jinty64 · 27/12/2013 19:24

Congratulations - now, I really like Benjamin.

LightsPlease · 27/12/2013 16:55

Horrible

DingDongUriGelleryOnHigh · 27/12/2013 16:50

Oh oh! Congratulations! Sorry I missed that post! (Gloria for the next on eh?) Wink

DingDongUriGelleryOnHigh · 27/12/2013 16:48

Its gorgeous and much much more appropriate for a Christmas baby than the ubiquitous "holly".

I also think of the fascinating girl and woman friend I have known all my life. She's in her 30's now and is supremely confident and clever.

Call her Gloria and you won't regret it Smile

DramaAlpaca · 27/12/2013 16:44

Congratulations!

sausageandorangepickle · 27/12/2013 13:51

cross posted (cos I'm so slow at typing...) congratulations Thanks

My DH used to have an 'Aunty Glory' (Gloria) it always sounded exotic and glamorous to me, although I never met her.

I know other older Glorias and their names are often shortened to 'Glor' though, which is horrible.

Gloriana is fabulous though!

And she may be here by now.....

PrammyMammy · 27/12/2013 13:42

Well we had a ds. So no Gloria :( but a Benjamin instead.Grin

Glorious! Love it.

OpalTourmaline · 26/12/2013 19:59

I imagine a woman in her 60s who is glam with long red nails and throaty laugh. Has had a tough life but is very warm hearted and kind. I like it. I can't imagine someone with that name not being nice.

MelanieRavenswood · 26/12/2013 15:10

Love it.

Jinty64 · 26/12/2013 14:23

I think it's terrible. I have a relative with this name. She is very pleasant but I find it hard to get past the name.

DramaAlpaca · 26/12/2013 00:08

Sorry, but I really dislike it. I know a lovely Gloria in her late thirties and I think it's really old fashioned on her as well.

Alisvolatpropiis · 26/12/2013 00:06

I don't like it, sorry.

Are there any other names you like?

Strangely - I like it. Confused

I know I shouldn't - but I do.

Ruprekt · 25/12/2013 16:10

Similar ilk to Barbara and Eileen imho........

Mrscupcake23 · 25/12/2013 16:08

Its really really horrible.

Claire983 · 25/12/2013 16:01

Sorry but I think it is a truly unpleasant old-fashioned (and not in a good way) name. I would hate to have been given that name.

Sorry but I think it is a truly unpleasant old-fashioned (and not in a good way) name. I would hate to have been given that name. Unlikely to be many other Glorias in the school year though!
