I don't like it, sorry. It sounds really cringeworthy and wet. Penny too.

I like Freya though which is quite a strong name and polar opposite to Penny.

BrownPaint · 03/01/2014 11:44

I love Penelope

ShadowFall · 01/01/2014 21:26

I love Penelope, had it on my girl names shortlist.

AGoodPirate · 31/12/2013 12:45

I like Penelope. Don't like Freya.

floatyflo · 30/12/2013 23:27

Penilicious is very cute Grin

I have a 2 year old Penelope, known as Pen, Pen pen, penny, penilicious etc. we still like it.

floatyflo · 30/12/2013 19:53

I reckon Penelope it's gonna be!

I think Penelope is lovely.

Lebkuchenlover · 28/12/2013 07:44

Penelope and Florence are both becoming more trendy, but are still rising whereas Freya might have hit the peak?

Please don't call a girl Pippi - it means wee in GermanGrin!

googietheegg · 28/12/2013 05:57

Penelope is ok. Nell is great! Penny is awful though - sounds weak.

sleepingbeautiful · 28/12/2013 05:16

I like it, and prefer it to Freya.
Pippi is a cute nn, as is Nell.

SS3J · 27/12/2013 21:28

It is becoming weirdly popular. At least, I think it's weird because to me Penelope is a really ugly name, dated in a bad way. Freya is pretty, but very popular so depends if that bothers you or not.

floatyflo · 27/12/2013 09:43

I love Florence (Flo), but thats my cats name and she came with it too!! Darn moggies Grin

Meglet · 27/12/2013 09:42

Lovely name. But another one who thinks it might become popular. I wonder if it's creeping, or rocketing, up the baby name charts?

floatyflo · 27/12/2013 09:42

Hear to the Febreeze thing. Thats what puts me off Freya. That and it is becoming a little bit of a fad name. Lots of little Freyas popping up.

See I'm not actually mad on Penny, prefer Pops or Pippi. At the moment she is known as Baby Nell (Thats my nicknames from my Mum), and Nell or Nellie can be nicknames for Penelope.

I love it and would have shortlisted it for DD, but it's the name if my cat (she came with it)

moominleigh94 · 27/12/2013 09:35

really like it! and love the nn Penny

BettyMacdonald · 27/12/2013 09:34

Definitely Penelope. I love it and would have used it but unfortunately didn't really suit any of my 3 boys! It's a really versatile name and I think it suits any age. Really don't like Freya, sorry. I think it's a bit fussy although I do know a lovely girl called Freya. FWIW Breeze is a great middle name but I think too much like Febreeze if it's to go with Freya! Xmas Grin

floatyflo · 27/12/2013 09:30

I did wonder about its popularity and its not in the top 100. And I def don't need to worry about the Kartrashian association as I doubt anybody I know even has much of a clue as to who they are, let alone what there kids are called :)

Thank you for everybodys repies. Seems it def not for some but overall the majority like.

Its down to Freya or Penelope now. Votes??

Love it, though it's getting too popular for my taste. Also, there's the Kardashian association if that bothers you.

janey68 · 22/12/2013 10:26

Love it. Looks and sounds beautiful, and has the balance of being a classic name which hasn't become over popular

squoosh · 22/12/2013 03:17

Pen, Penny, Nell all nice.

Penelope is awful though.

sleepdodger · 21/12/2013 23:11

Total yes here

tiamariaxxx · 21/12/2013 23:01

Seems to be getting quite popular. not 1 i would use personally

Alisvolatpropiis · 21/12/2013 15:00

I like it
