We have a name picked we think for DC2 who is due in a matter of weeks..however i'm not 100% sure that it's the right name. Therefore I'm opening the floor up! What name would you call a baby if it's sister was called H o n o r.

Hit me with it Xmas Wink would love to hear views just to get a different idea!

Thanks

Honor is a very Regency name so I'd look at Jane Austen novels for inspiration

Esther or Hugo are favourites of mine,

Honor is a lovely name.

I like Felix, Rufus and Ferdinand (Ferdy) for brothers.

Not feeling inspired for you for a sister at the moment. We have an Alice which sounds nice with Honor.

woozlebear · 26/12/2013 19:09

Merle (can be boys or girls but I always think of it as a girls name).

Lazlo for a boy? Can also be spelled Laszlo. It's a Hungarian name.

You wanted outlandish....

Verena? Erin? Aurora? Sidonie? Edith (Edie)?
Harris / Harrison? Blake?

As long as the name on the letter has Mr or Miss in front of it! If my favourite name had the same letter then that wouldn't stop me using it though, but if I liked two names equally and one started with the same letter as another DC then I would go for the different one for that reason.

thehouseoflego · 19/12/2013 21:23

turkey i do see your point, however if it's a boy surely it doesn't matter.

I do know one family with 5 children, 4 boys all have the small letter!

Connie or Rowan for a girl
Freddie or Ptolemy for a boy.

Turkeybirdiewithcranberrysauce · 19/12/2013 20:40

I always think its a shame to have the same syllable as when post arrives for Miss H they won't know which one it's for. Just something I've always tried to avoid!

thehouseoflego · 19/12/2013 16:43

I think having 2 'H' is okay since in DD name the 'H' is silent.

Not odd to have two names with the same letter, but the pearl clutchers will be along telling you to think of the postal confusion....Xmas Grin

How about

Howard/Howie
Herbert
Halbert/ Hal
Hugh
Henry/Harry
or

Hannibal......

or for girls

Hannah
Hester
Hermione
and now I'm struggling..

Thank you so much for the suggestions Xmas Smile

Interesting how quite a few of you have picked names that I had on my —brave— list. DH’s name has also been mentioned a few times. Sadly can’t use that, it’s a great name through.

DD was named after a family member, not keen on using another 'virtue’ name. Might be kicking the ass out of it somewhat.

I love..Hero —DH suggested this for DD but he’s gone off it now— I would utterly love to use Juno.

Kit was suggested for DD however, neither of us like Christopher or the other names for Kit. And DH just feels it’s ‘lacking’ something.

Xavier, Hunter and India, I love, DH doesn’t.

Trinity Xmas Shock really! You are joking right Wink

What about another ‘H’ name? Would that be odd?

Thanks
