We have a Nancy - she is funny and feisty and suits it very well :).

She was named after a great great Aunt (a Scottish Agnes always called Nancy). However, as you can see from my MN name, I'm also a big Swallows and Amazon fan :).

scaevola · 10/12/2013 06:45

I know one in RL.

Not a name I'd use, because of the insult. Ditto Pansy.

Oriunda · 10/12/2013 06:42

I can't stand Nancy dell'Olio, but love her full name - Annunziata.

Nancy is fine. I was a big Nancy Drew fan.

Rosencrantz · 10/12/2013 01:47

DHs ex Angry so I can't use it. Shame, it's beautiful.

seventiesgirl · 09/12/2013 23:07

Love it. Nancy Drew and also one of my best mates.

CordeliaRose · 09/12/2013 23:02

Love it! I have a gorgeous friend called Nancy - she is funny, feisty and fabulous Thanks

sonnieboo · 09/12/2013 22:59

Really dislike it! Sounds harsh and cutesy at same time and just isn't elegant imo. Also doesn't travel well.

DramaAlpaca · 09/12/2013 22:55

I don't like it at all.

AnythingNotEverything · 09/12/2013 22:50

Love it.

Theonlyoneiknow · 09/12/2013 22:43

My granny Nancy also lived into her nineties!

WhiteHairReally · 09/12/2013 22:42

I'm sitting here, smiling at the photo on my desk of my grandmother and her four younger cousins/sister, taken in about 1912, all in white cotton dresses, standing in a row. Queenie, Fanny, Nancy, Betty and Nelly. Nancy is in the middle, aged about five. All the others have ribbons in their hair, Nancy's is sticking out all over the place, and she doesn't care one jot. She lived well into her nineties and was running keep fit classes for women twenty-five years her junior. Great name, great woman. and fantastic little girl.

marshmallowpies · 09/12/2013 14:40

I love it - Nancy Mitford is a heroine of mine (she's not one of the nasty ones, a thoroughly good egg) but David Cameron called his daughter Nancy which puts me off a bit. Still love it though.

Astarael · 09/12/2013 14:30

Nice name. Makes me think of Swallows and Amazons too.

RalphRecklessCardew · 09/12/2013 08:34

Gorgeous.

ChicksyBurtVonnugget · 09/12/2013 08:25

A very wise man once said to me 'there are not enough Nancy's in the world'. He was right, it's a great name.

diddl · 09/12/2013 08:19

Awful.

Mattissy · 09/12/2013 07:07

Love it!

I only know one and she's in her 40's, it's unusual for our age group but she's always had really positive comments.

Ninasaurus · 09/12/2013 07:02

Dislike nancy.

Theonlyoneiknow · 08/12/2013 22:31

I love it, even more so because it was my very dear grannys name (no longer with us sadly), although she was born Agnes but everyone called her Nancy?

Anyway, fab name!

Tapiocapearl · 08/12/2013 22:30

Lovely. I also like betsy and Betty

CreepyCrawly · 08/12/2013 21:59

I have a 10 month old Nancy. I still smile whenever I say it :)

Suzietwo · 08/12/2013 21:50

Love it. Can't use it due to an ex of my brothers being called nancy and utterly psychotic. But otherwise, I'd be keen.

Alisvolatpropiis · 08/12/2013 19:20

It has come to my attention via one of my teen brothers friends - it is her name.

I don't know how it has bypassed the name obsessive I am for so long!

Love it!
