I have a Dylan he is 18 and when he was born it was really popular.Im in Dublin btw.But there was a glut of them the.I like Flynn better than Lucien.Reminds me of Lucifer not a good thing really.

flatmum · 13/01/2014 22:16

I am also biased with a Dylan. He's 8 and never met another one until this year one has started in reception. where we are (Surrey) Flynn (and Fin/Finlay) are way more common. I also like Lucien. Don't like Flynn.

Butterfly82 · 13/01/2014 22:12

I have a Dylan and don't think there are anymore in his school I still love the name 5 years on he is a very gentle and loving child prefer Dylan Oliver.

FatAmy · 11/01/2014 17:49

I really like Flynn, Dylan's alright but I don't like Lucien at all.

nichib83 · 11/01/2014 17:43

I get the 'Tangled' thing!! If Flynn were real he would be lush! blush

nichib83 · 11/01/2014 17:41

My ten year old is called Dylan so I am very biased. Very lovely, strong name!! :)

kaycat · 10/01/2014 19:38

I vote Lucien Oliver all the way!! I am biased though as I have a 3 year old Lucien. It's a name that had mixed reactions (on here and with people generally). I am glad we were brave and stuck with it. What we have found is that it is a name that really "grows" on people. I think that is the case with a lot of the slightly more unusual names. The original detracters of the name now tell me that they really love it. My little Lucien is a curly haired ball of energy/mischief who looks like an angel and the name is just perfect for him.

Dylan is lovely, but it will definitely date I think. There a large number where we are (Sussex).

Flynn is nice too but I don't think it is as distinguished or as strong as Lucien

hestergraysgarden · 10/12/2013 15:48

I wanted Flynn for DS but DH said it was wrong to name my children after animated characters that I fancy Grin

So my vote is for Flynn.

Flynn Oliver is lovely, but I think Flynn Hunter has a nicer sound to it. Just personal preference though and yours is what matters!

Nataleejah · 10/12/2013 15:38

Why not Oliver?

KLou1105 · 10/12/2013 15:28

Thanks ladies still very undecided it seems most people seem to prefer Dylan or Flynn. Is dylan really getting popular? We live in Devon and not heard of many Dylan's tbh x

Always loved Lucien.
Flynn is a surname or nickname for someone with that surname.
Not fussed about Dylan.

DessieLou · 09/12/2013 09:16

Flynn! I love this but doesn't go with our surname. Please use it!

sonnieboo · 09/12/2013 06:56

Sorry, meant timeless (not overused).

sonnieboo · 09/12/2013 06:55

Really like Lucien! Cool, classic and not timeless. Flynn/Finn are very overused and Dylan I'm not keen on.

skizzo · 09/12/2013 04:33

Flynn because its not as overused as Dylan, and it sounds better than Lucien.

southerngirl25599 · 08/12/2013 23:25

Really like Flynn and it's not to popular either. Quite like Dylan too but really don't like the name Lucien

ProfondoRosso · 08/12/2013 22:47

I actually love Lucien. And in my mind, Lucien is a tough, creative romantic, like the artist Lucien Freud. Lucien Oliver is great.

Going to be even more contrary and admit I'm not at all fond of Dylan or Flynn! Grin

WednesdayRebel · 08/12/2013 22:42

Agree with those who've expressed strong dislike for Lucien.

Dylan and Flynn both great, and prefer Oliver to Hunter

Flossiechops · 08/12/2013 19:40

Ps there aren't any other Dylan's at my ds school x

ToffeeJungle · 08/12/2013 19:39

In order of preference:
Dylan
Flynn
Lucien

Flossiechops · 08/12/2013 19:39

Dylan but then I'm biased because I have one. A gorgeous name for my a gorgeous boy Grin

StrawberryMojito · 08/12/2013 19:37

Really like Dylan and Flynn. I know a Dylan who is a great lad.

To say I'm really not keen on Lucien would be puttin it mildly.

youbethemummylion · 08/12/2013 19:35

Not Flynn I like Finn but Flynn just sounds wrong to my ears for some reason. Like Lucien over Dylan a lot of Dylans around at the moment.

Leeds2 · 08/12/2013 19:29

None are really to my taste, but I would choose Flynn. I prefer Oliver to Hunter.

IslaValargeone · 08/12/2013 19:18

I think Lucien is a bit fey tbh.
Like the others though.
