I'm not pregnant but i like names :) My favourite girls name is Claudia but I'm going off the "claw" sound. What other girls names end in dia as that's the part of it I like?

snowqu33n · 29/11/2013 04:19

Chlamydia...wait, no, that doesn't sound right....Grin

washngo · 29/11/2013 03:59

I've said this before on here but I am Lydia and never once have I been called anything related to chlamydia.

crazyhamsterbackonthego · 29/11/2013 03:46

Luckily enough nobody was ever brainy enough to suss that Grin

MsJupiterJones · 29/11/2013 03:15

However, if your name were Aidan and your classmates realised your name backwards was Nadia, you might be in for some stick.

crazyhamsterbackonthego · 28/11/2013 23:34

I can safely say after 25 years of thorough testing that nobody can come up with a piss take version or take the mick out of the name Nadia

completely outs self

Clodagh? Similar to Claudia

Cordelia is lovely. Cordy is a lovely NN.

Hmm...none of those end in -dia. Sorry!

MsJupiterJones · 27/11/2013 05:12

Dia is 'day' in Greek and Spanish.
Nadia is 'nobody' in Spanish. They wouldn't work very well for us (in Spain)!

Love Claudia and Cordelia.
Natalia - sorry if it's been mentioned upthread.

ClaraBarton · 26/11/2013 05:43

I never knew that MathAnxiety, that's lovely.

lizzi07 · 26/11/2013 02:50

how about Samia or Cressida, or Eliza and Olivia

cheekbyjowl · 26/11/2013 02:36

elodia

mathanxiety · 26/11/2013 02:36

Dia means God in Irish...

Dumpylump · 26/11/2013 00:25

Claudia was the first name that came into my head, I think it's lovely. I really like Cordelia too.
I'm not at all sure about Dia.....imagine kids adding rhea to the end of it!

EugenesAxe · 26/11/2013 00:22

I knew a Candida. She teased me when I was about 11 for not knowing what thrush was. Only later did I realise she probably knew because she was named after the fungus that causes it.

However, if you can get over that, I think it's quite a nice name... not quite -dia, but there we go.

ClaraBarton · 26/11/2013 00:12

Love Claudia - claw wouldn't occur to me. V.classy.

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 25/11/2013 20:03

I adore the name Nadia.

Sundaedelight · 25/11/2013 19:30

Delia

Dahlia

Davinia

confusedwwyd · 24/11/2013 07:36

I think I'm more in love with the way claudia looks written down, than with the way it sounds. The clowdia pronunciation could be a way around it.

Claudia is beautiful.

confusedwwyd · 23/11/2013 19:49

Some good suggestions here :-) would it be a bad idea to have a baby so I can use one? !
