hulabaloo · 22/11/2013 06:36

Surname

LifeIsBetterInFlipFlops · 22/11/2013 06:41

Nay

MorgauseIsNotBlinking · 22/11/2013 06:44

Nay - my immediate response was "Tweed".

cloggal · 22/11/2013 08:58

I'm Scottish but I genuinely think there are far nicer Scottish names if that's what you're after. Not bad, but not great.

chimchar · 22/11/2013 09:00

my first response was Rolf.

not keen, sorry.

HyvaPaiva · 22/11/2013 09:03

It's a surname, it's a product (tweed), it sounds like London slang for arse, it's not a pleasant 'sound' as a name. I'm Scottish and like cloggal think there are plenty of beautiful Scottish names. To me, this really, really isn't one of them.

UriGeller · 22/11/2013 09:04

Nay. Nay. And thrice nay.

LemonBreeland · 22/11/2013 09:37

I like it I know two boys called Harris.

Bowlersarm · 22/11/2013 09:39

Nay.

girliefriend · 22/11/2013 09:40

I like it, prefer Harry though.

MonkeysInTheFog · 22/11/2013 09:55

Not since Rolf ruined it.

Weegiemum · 22/11/2013 09:59

I agree that it's fine, but that there are nicer Scottish names, including place-type names, than Harris.

If you use it though you could take him to visit the Isle of Harris which is gorgeous - I know because I lived there for 10 years!!

Frontdoorstep · 22/11/2013 10:00

I'm Scottish and agree that there are nicer Scottish names. I'm afraid I reall don't like Harris for a name.

Route666 · 22/11/2013 10:34

Thanks for opinions I love it but dh isn't convinced, We are Scottish forgot to put that, didn't even connect it with Rolf Harris that is off putting.

Hmm not keen.

squoosh · 22/11/2013 10:38

Not for me.

Island names are popular at the moment but I'm not a fan of this one.

Theonlyoneiknow · 23/11/2013 10:09

I love it however it is now racing up the charts in popularity in Scotland. I know 3 !

MamaLazarou · 23/11/2013 14:23

Rhyming slang for bum.

Beachballfamily · 23/11/2013 14:59

I like it. It's a quite popular Muslim name (spelt with one r) as well as the Scottish connection.

TheNunsOfGavarone · 23/11/2013 16:47

Tweed.
