Due to have our 4th baby in Feb, we have decided on Louise for a middle name but can't decide between Iona or Annabel for a first name. Thoughts please??

I'd probably go for Annabel even though it's a bit too girlie for my usual tastes.

Really not a fan of Iona, not a pretty sound and the word itself looks so bulky.

Iona definitely. Annabel was the one I vetoed on DH's list when DD was born.

BartBaby · 21/11/2013 09:13

I think Annabel is lovely. It would be a serious contender for our dd1 but it doesn't go with our surname.

Iona.

I love Annabel but those Baby Annabel dolls really creep me out!

GrandstandingBlueTit · 21/11/2013 07:31

Iona is lovely.

Has the rare quality of being timeless, i.e. not associated with a particular era, and so you'd be able to tell the age of an Iona.

Annabel!

Juliealpha · 20/11/2013 17:45

Wow, thanks everyone, that answers that! I prefer Iona too so I think that's settled.

Thank you Mummyofisla! I really like Iona, it's unique and very pretty! I also adore the name Isla Smile

cloggal · 20/11/2013 16:53

Like Iona a lot. Annabel a little frilly for my taste.

HyvaPaiva · 20/11/2013 16:52

Iona

MrsBungleScare · 20/11/2013 16:50

Iona for sure (provided it goes with your surname)

AcrylicPlexiglass · 20/11/2013 16:48

I like Annabel because it is my daughter's favourite doll. Agree it could have connotations of being a relatively "posh" name, if that matters to you. Quite like Iona.

ElizabethBathory · 20/11/2013 16:44

Iona is gorgeous.

I like Annabel too, but Iona has the edge as it's less cute.

Noggie · 20/11/2013 16:43

Iona is lovely - classic, elegant and not oversused. Great name and goes will with Louise!

TheTruffleHunter · 20/11/2013 14:24

Iona. Beautiful!

MummyofIsla · 20/11/2013 14:22

You literally say it as it's spelt so "I own a (not the ay way)" hope that makes sense.

DD is an Isla and when I was pregnant it was that or Iona so definately Iona.

Not keen on Annabel sorry, its a little posh for me.

TrueBoo · 20/11/2013 14:16

Iona.
