Girl sibling for Henrietta

Wondering if anyone has any ideas...

DD1 is Henrietta (we call her by a shortened version mostly). She was named after a loved one, it's not really a name that is totally our 'style' but we 100% love it now. So now we need a girl's name that goes with it - in the very least I'd like a name that has a shortened version, or nickname opportunities! The MN will be Joy.

Names we like but can't use for various reasons are:
Margaret
Florence
Beatrice
Matilda

I'm also keen to avoid other names that are feminizations of male names (like Georgina, for example).

Any suggestions welcome!

Francesca
Yvette
Susannah
Olivia
Christina
Daniella
Nicolette
Colette

I think a few syllables to match Henrietta and it also works better with joy.

Perdita sprung to mind!

Unless you think that falls into the 'male' camp?

Personally I don't think it does.

Philippa?

Love Matilda

I would go for something shorter than Henrietta but similarly elegant and classic, e.g.

Frances
Sybil
Dinah
Charlotte
Clara
Lara

Rosamund

Marguerite is much prettier and more elegant that Margaret.

Hebe

Cordelia

Cecelia

Penelope

Diana (I am feeling a revival of this is imminent - don;t know why!)

HoneyandRum · 16/11/2013 05:44

Julia

RegularVoltaire · 15/11/2013 22:24

Not Harriet ...Harriet is essentially a shortened form of Henrietta, isn't it?

Cassandra
Edith
Louisa
Lucia
Juliet

I also like the suggestion of Hermione

AbiRoad · 15/11/2013 22:15

Penelope would work well. Could be penny, Nell, poppy etc

Ikeameatballs · 15/11/2013 22:10

Matilda
Susannah
Loveday
Cordelia
Rebecca

Ohmydarlin · 15/11/2013 22:04

Christabel or Clementine go nicely with Henrietta and both fit well with your middle name Joy.

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 15/11/2013 21:22

My first thought was Josephine, which is obviously a feminisation, but I take it you are trying to avoid two 'boyish' nicknames? Well, Josephine would be Josie which isn't boyish.

soontobeslendergirl · 15/11/2013 21:22

Evelyn
Rita
Alice
Emily

CoffeeChocolateWine · 15/11/2013 21:02

I saw Henrietta and thought Isobel/Isabelle (Izzy or Belle). Don't know why, but I think they sound nice together. Isobel Joy works too.

WestmorlandSausage · 15/11/2013 20:55

Harriet.

But they will become known as Hattie and Henny... .not that that is a bad thing!

Arabella
Charlotte
Elizabeth
Isabel
Cressida

Cutteduppumpkin · 15/11/2013 20:49

I only meant the last one was like Margaret Shock

Cutteduppumpkin · 15/11/2013 20:48

I know it's close to Margaret, but what about:
Eleanor? Isabelle? Juliette? Marguerite?

CountingStars · 15/11/2013 20:39

Elizabeth comes to mind.
