Hi, it's me again Grin.

Can I have people's opinions on these names?

And also, which 3 you think best go together, and which go best with the names Autumn and April?
Having a hard time deciding, thanks everyone!

Yes to rhyme with Lara.

They are due in december/january, but wouldn't be surprised if it was early December.

Also, when is your DD due?

QuickQuickSloe · 01/11/2013 20:53

How are you pronouncing Yara? To rhyme with Lara?

CountingStars · 01/11/2013 20:48

Mumpire, never realized Opal was a car. Still a pretty name though.

What other two would you think go with Eve? Didn't even think of it being a time of day. Just came from another poster thinking it was Christmas related.

Eve goes, as it's a time of day. Then you have a season, a month and a time of day. eve is beautiful.

Mumpire · 01/11/2013 20:44

Ember is something that is dying. It's beautiful and warm and I love staring in to a fire so I can see its appeal but still, it's dying. Prefer Amber.

Opal is a car. But that's not why I don't like it. I like the name Clio and that's a car.

Yara, no, I think Tara and Lara are nice though.

Just thought Ember sounded pretty.

MiconiumHappens, where are you from?

Would really like to know which 3 people think go best together.

Like them all...apart from Ember (I think you will be constantly correcting Amber) and Yara in the accent here sounds like "you all right?"

BikeRunSki · 01/11/2013 20:41

I was also going to say that Ember sounds like misspelling / mispronunciation of Amber. And why would you want to name a baby after something that is dying ?

CountingStars · 01/11/2013 20:40

We don't want another A name, which is why we thought of Ember, since we like Amber.

Eve is our favorite, but obviously need two that go with that and April and Autumn, so it's hard to find things that fit well.

Ember is glowing dying bit among the dirty gray stuff in the fire.
EVERYONE will think you meant Amber, too.
Opal is lovely without being weird, mind.

TheNunsOfGavarone · 01/11/2013 20:32

I like Eve the best too and think it goes well with April and Autumn.

I'm not keen on Ember either and that's because..... I don't think it looks very pretty and I don't like the idea of something sitting in the fireplace, glowing but gradually burning out. I mean, that's fine for embers but I just don't feel it translates very happily to a baby's name. If that makes sense.

I prefer Amber. Actually Ember sounds like how someone with a terribly camped up posh accent would say Amber.

CountingStars · 01/11/2013 20:23

Can I ask why you don't like Ember?

OP posts:
lljkk · 01/11/2013 20:22

No no no to Ember.
I had a lovely teacher called Opal (yes I knew her by first name).
I still like Eve best.

CountingStars · 01/11/2013 19:59

I didn't know it until just now, it means 'small butterfly'. Which I just thought was sweet. Was thinking of possibly Tara, but I have realized that vowel names are going better with Autumn/April.

I don't know the name Yara and it doesn't roll with the others easily IMHO. If you like it though, use it!

CountingStars · 01/11/2013 19:49

Can I ask if there is a particular reason you don't like Yara, or do you just not like it?

Thank you for your opinion Sundaedelight.

Opal is too similar to April

I don't like yara ( plus autocorrects to Tara which is irritating)

The others are nice

Sundaedelight · 01/11/2013 19:38

Autumn, April, Ivy, Ember and Eve.

Opal is a little too similar to April although a lovely name.
