Ok, still a couple of months to go but scan says girl so we're focusing on names.
We want a name which we can shorten to an everyday nn. This fits in with our other kids names.

DH likes the nicknames, Josie, clemmie and Flo. So he's keen on, Josephine or Jocelyn, Clementine and Florence or Florentine.

I like Ruth/Ruthie, Margaret/Maggie and Constance/Connie

Dh's fav is one of the Josie names though he can't decide which. Mine is Constance.

Honest opinions without being too nasty please. Smile

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I think everyone will regret Jonnie and Connie ( although Constance is a lovely name). Josephine is beautiful as is Jocelyn. Have you considered nn Meg for Margaret?

mathanxiety · 31/10/2013 05:12

I love Ruth, Margaret, Josephine and Clementine.

I like Constance but really dislike Connie and Flo completely puts me off Florence.

NadiaWadia · 31/10/2013 01:06

Clementine is nicest of your DH's choices
Ruth of yours

juneybean · 30/10/2013 20:55

I work with a Clemmie/Clementine I'm afraid I do sing to her quite often.

Hettyjones · 30/10/2013 20:52

Thank you, wishful!
I'm coming around to Josephine but still really like Constance.

Didn't see your boys names until now I think Josephine fits so well with your DS names lovely names all round :)

Wishfulmakeupping · 30/10/2013 18:05

I prefer your DH choices especially Josephine or Jocelyn but I don't like Florence

Hettyjones · 30/10/2013 18:02

Just bumping for evening crowd to try and help me make a decision. Do any go better with my DS's names?

OP posts:
Hettyjones · 30/10/2013 11:59

So yes, I guess it should fit with the boys' names.

clary · 30/10/2013 11:54

I like Florence (one of DS2's girl names) and Constance.

Really not keen on Maggie, sorry.

Hettyjones · 30/10/2013 11:47

My boys are Alexander (Alex) Jonathan (jonny) and Christopher (Kit)

All beautiful names. Constance and Florence were on the list for dd1. We chose Margot in the end.
Clementine was a late addition as I ate about a kilo of the things a day. Didn't choose it incase it was a hormone based decision but it is firmly top of the list for a potential dd2.
What about Constance Clemintine with CeCe as a nn?
There is also Nancy from Constance.

Northumberlandlass · 30/10/2013 11:36

I love Constance, Florence & Maggie.

Clem or clemmie is another word for knackers/balls/tecticles Grin where I'm from

thedevilisinthedetail · 30/10/2013 11:32

What are your other children called? if dc3 had been a girl she would have been Constance Harriet.

Hettyjones · 30/10/2013 11:24

Just bumping for more ideas. Maybe first name-middle name combos.

Thanks everyone, sorry not to come back last night but I fell asleep.
I like the sound of Constance Josephine but now WIMOV had made me worry that she'll hate it. I don't want to give her a name that's liked on MN but that in real life everyone will laugh at.
DH has said he doesn't think Constance is right as a middle name but he does like Josephine Margaret and Jocelyn Margaret. He also said that he doesn't like Ruth at all so doesn't want to consider that. So we've discounted Ruth from my list and Florence/Florentine from his. Maybe we're getting somewhere!

Constance Josephine

WineIsMyMainVice · 29/10/2013 20:27

Ruth is a fantastic strong name. And not too popular that you hear it all the time.
I really don't think she will thank you for Constance.
Maggie and Josie are lovely though.

Handbagsonnhold · 29/10/2013 20:21

All beautiful names ....(not Florentine though as reminds me of those nutty chocolate 'Florentines' I have off my aunt for Christmas) Confused Ho Ho Ho! Honestly though all really classic choices.....Good luck x

SatinSandals · 29/10/2013 20:18

Josephine/Josie or Margaret/Maggie

Bakingtins · 29/10/2013 20:16

I like both the Josie names though I think Jocelyn would end up as Joss. I know a Josephine who goes by Epphie/Effie which I also like as a NN.
Not keen on Flo or Clemmie.
Constance/Connie is lovely.
Not sure about Margaret.

squoosh · 29/10/2013 16:02

I like Maggie. Not keen on any of the other options. At a push Clem is okay, Clemmie is clammy.

Hettyjones · 29/10/2013 15:54

Seems everyone likes different ones. I just don't know. Maybe we need to make a smaller shortlist.

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 29/10/2013 14:54

Without a second thought, Josephine nn Josie. Cute, with growing potential. Lovely name and too of my mental list for never going to happen dd3.

Hettyjones · 29/10/2013 14:30

Thanks. Florence is getting quite popular here so that worries me. If we called her Clementine would she be sung to forever more? Josephine and Jocelyn are both nice and DH does love Josie. I do know a little jocelyn though it's spelt slightly differently but she is known as Joss which I'd worry would get confused with Josh and people would think she had a boys name.
I'm rambling, sorry.
