Daisy or Matilda?

I don't have long at all now until my daughter is born and have narrowed it down to these 2 names. Please could you let me know which you prefer, thank you Smile

For those who have a Matilda, does her name get shortened? Not really too keen on Tilly as a nn but think she would get called this anyway..

Go for Rosie! My little one has Rose as a middle name but call her Bella Rosie a lot of the time, wish I'd chosen that instead. I've only taught 1 Rosie and she was a delight.

I've come across quite a few Daisies at toddler groups in this area.

I know a teenage Daisy, the name suited her as a child but it hasn't grown with her.

DP has now thrown Rosie into the mix, hadn't considered it before but I do like it. What do you think?

I know it's nothing at all to do with me, but I can't bear Matilda. And having it shortened to Tilly - eurgh! Tilly, Milly, Molly....all names ending in -lly really.

Matilda, Daisy is cute as a little girl but I don't think it suits an adult.

I work in a primary of 700 children. 1 Daisy and no Matildas!

Both lovely, we have a 4 year old Daisy and only know 1 other baby Daisy. I also know 2 Matilda's. like I say both gorgeous.

Thanks for the comments. Think we are leaning towards Daisy slightly, not bothered about choosing a popular name really, as long as a name hasn't been used in my family or by any friends it's fine. Daisy also sounds better with our surname so it scores extra points there.

Ds is in a school with 90 children per year and I have not come across a Daisy yet. I know of a few girls named Matilda. Popularity doesn't influence my choices though. Nice names are often well liked and used.

I have a 4.5 year old Daisy - we live in London and in her private nursery, the primary nursery and the reception classes in 2 schools she has attended, both with 60 intakes, she has been the only Daisy in her year and in the two schools the only Daisy in the school. I was surprised as we knew it was popular.

I love Matilda as well - was on my list as I like the nn Tilly.

Btw, I have heard DD being called 'Daiz' which I hadn't thought would happen.

A few people have also asked me if her name is Margaret as Daisy is a nickname for that.
