Daisy or Matilda?

I don't have long at all now until my daughter is born and have narrowed it down to these 2 names. Please could you let me know which you prefer, thank you Smile

I have a Daisy and she's one of two in her year. I'd say Matilda is creeping up to be almost as popular.

Both are very lovely, obviously Daisy's the winner for me, easier to learn how to write too.

dd is in reception the school has two classes with 22 children in each. There is one Daisy and one Matilda so not overly popular. I slightly prefer Matilda.

Thanks for the suggestions. Just an update to say we went with Daisy Elizabeth in the end and she's now 9 weeks old and adorable :)

Matilda. Tilly is nice too. Daisy is a bit wet and soppy IMO.

I think we are going to go with Daisy Florence. I love Matilda too but will save it for a possible dd2. Just need the little one to arrive now :-)

My DD is Matilda Rose and we call her Tilda, Tils or Tilly but that's just because her big sister does. To us she is just Matilda :-) it is getting more popular now though x

I have a Daisy, and a niece called Florence!

I have however, also met a Daisy in her 60s who absolutely hated her name - just felt it wasn't "grown-up" enough.

Rosie or Daisy. I like Rosie the best.
I like the name Matilda but would have some nn concerns.

Thanks for the suggestions, Matilda Rose is nice but not a combination on our list. If we choose Matilda she will be Matilda Daisy x

I think Matilda or Rosie (she can choose nn Rose when she's a bit older maybe?) are lovely.

I do like Daisy but agree its one of those names that maybe doesn't suit she grows up?

Daisy. When a guy I work with referred to his new baby "Matilda this and Matilda that" I couldn't help but think a bit try hard/poncy - fine if you are very quirky/creative/bohemian but for average middle class city dweller type it sounds a bit poncy and wannabe boho.

Daisy- have always adored.

Yes, to Tilda. Toddlers say Tilda before they say Matilda so it became our DDs nn. Never Tilly.
