Lorna or Maizie?

We don't know what were having but are undecided on girls name. DH prefers Maizie but I prefer Lorna?
Middle name is Rose.
so, Lorna Rose or Maizie Rose?

Lorna x 1000. I really love it actually, it's pretty and unusual.

Not at all keen on Maizie, however it's spelt. It's popular and imo a bit lightweight.

I prefer Maisie with an s. Dd1 is Maisie Laura which suits her perfectly!

Lorna feels quite 70s to me too.

Even though it may be a legitimate spelling, I think you'd be forever correcting people if you use the Z spelling of Maisie.

I prefer Maizie. We struggled with girl names but boy names we had loads. Have fun deciding.

I am biased as my sister is called Lorna and I did Grin at LazyGaga's post because she is a teacher and a real dreamy, hippy type with long hair!!

I know a Maisie and the pronunciation is always a May-zee sound. I would say Macey would be more of a May-see; the 's' sound would be much more apparent. I've never seen the spelling Maizie.

Lorna is quite a 70s name to me. I picture a dreamy, hippyish type woman with long hair and long skirt - possibly an Art teacher Grin.

OP at the risk of outing myself I'm a Maisie Rose and have never been called macey, iyswim. I like my name now being an adult but didn't like it much growing up Smile

You can spell Maizie/Maisie/maisy all 3 ways. They are all legitimate ways of spelling the name. I didn't want it pronounced wrong as in Maisie mistaken for macey. but I definitely prefer Lorna which seems more popular at the moment. Thankyou for all your comments, even the sweetcorn one lol

Lorna is ok except a horrid person I work with is called Lorna. Wink

Maisy* is that annoying mouse character and the American spelling.

Maisie is an Irish name, derived from Margaret, sounds lovely with Rose trust me Wink

I prefer Lorna, it's the name of one of my dearest friends.
Maisie is quite sweet (I've never seen it spelt with a 'z' either): it reminds me of the series of books by Aileen Paterson which I used to read to DS (long time ago!).

Lorna gets my vote.

Maizie - with a 'z' is just wrong and Maisie said with a Northern accent is awful - I say this as a northerner!
