Bodhi isn't a silly name at all Hmm I know a few Bodhis, they're all Indian though. Might work better if you have a Indian family background and/or Buddhist.

charleslingus · 08/10/2013 08:37

Mammma is that pronounced Boden? Grin

everydayaschoolday · 08/10/2013 00:03

I, too, thought of The Professionals

Whiteroom82 · 08/10/2013 00:01

We have a dog called Bodhi and he is wonderful! I love the name ( hubby is Buddhist) so to us it has meaning and I would think it would be a cool name for a boy - however some people don't always get what we say when he tell them his name and it also sometimes gets mistaken for Buddy. If you love it, use it. As soon as they know it's his name, then that'll be his name! X

mammmamia · 07/10/2013 23:53

I know a Bodeun. Bodi for short.

CressidaMontgomery · 07/10/2013 23:33

Grin Noooooo!

sonlypuppyfat · 07/10/2013 23:33

Teddy is a wonderful name ... for a small stuffed bear

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 07/10/2013 23:33

I walk a dog called bodhi, he is lovely.

CressidaMontgomery · 07/10/2013 23:28

Teddy is a wonderful name!

Bohdi is plain try hard and just a bit silly

Mind you, these are all just opinions but its not a name - more saddling a child with something odd for the sake of it

tethersend · 07/10/2013 23:26

I need to know now... Is it Bowdi or Bodi?

DuchessofKirkcaldy · 07/10/2013 23:23

I know a little boy called Bodhi. He is lovely.

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 07/10/2013 23:22

Yes it has a story and a meaning,
Buddha sits under the Bodhi tree, reaches enlightenment, yadda yadda yadda....

It's a DP suggestion.

I think it's a scottish name Sonly, nothing to do with the sea.

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 07/10/2013 23:20

I thought it might grow on me.... T'isnt.

justanuthermanicmumsday · 07/10/2013 23:20

Never heard of it does it mean anything, origins etc?

It reminded me of dhodi al fayed

sonlypuppyfat · 07/10/2013 23:18

Brodie? Wasn't he in Jaws? Its all about the sea this.

nevergoogle · 07/10/2013 23:17

Brodie is better.

tethersend · 07/10/2013 23:15

Is it pronounced Bowdi or Bodi?

Because I could grow to like the former, but the latter is a lifetime of being called Body.

Rosencrantz · 07/10/2013 23:15

I love it! Very new agey and underused. More popular in America I think!

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 07/10/2013 23:13

That's nice of you Sonly Hmm

some people might say Teddy is a pretty stupid name too.

I happen to like it,but there are plenty who don't,that's how the world works isn't it?

OP posts:
sonlypuppyfat · 07/10/2013 22:58

Yes I thought Point Break I think Patrick Swayze just about got away with it in a film seems like people on here think, whats the stupidest name I can saddle a child with.

CressidaMontgomery · 07/10/2013 22:55

It's not cool - it's silly.

Here are some cool names - one of which might belong to my own DS

Sonny
Teddy

Actually I only appear to like two boys names Shock

meditrina · 07/10/2013 22:54

MrsCakesPremonition · 07/10/2013 22:54
