I know a Bodhi. He’s 3.

RickOShay · 13/03/2018 19:40

I know a little girl Bodhi.

GirlInTheStore · 13/03/2018 17:25

I had never heard of this name before, but a couple of months ago a friend had a DS and called him Bodhi.

I like it.

Name01 · 13/03/2018 15:17

It is the name of the tree under which Siddharth mediated and gained enlightenment to become the Buddha.
Pronounced Bo-dhi. The dh is a hard d sound, that most westerners can't pronounce correctly.

It's a beautiful name though

MonsteraDeliciosa · 12/03/2018 22:44

I love it. I used to teach a beautiful little boy called Bodhi, and always thought what a nice name it was.

bridgetreilly · 12/03/2018 17:17

As in Bodhi Zen? No.

oneinaBILLIEon · 12/03/2018 15:06

I LOVE this name!!! It is on the top of my baby list for a little boy!!

choceyes · 09/10/2013 09:42

Bodhi is not actually pronouned Bowdi. It's not a hard "d" more of a softer d, which is not a sound you get in the english language. I'm of south asian decent and a buddhist.
FWIW I'm not keen on it as a name anyway!

pokesandprodsforthelasttime · 09/10/2013 09:29

I don't like it.

Rufus or Caspar are better.

Threetofour · 09/10/2013 09:13

I have a Casper, ds2 was going to be Rufus but we changed at the last minute & he is now a Raphael nn Raffy or Rapha, Bodhi was also on my list so seems we have similar taste! Tbh I would just stick with Rufus it's YOUR baby so use the name you really want

daughterofafarmer · 08/10/2013 16:04

Just seen your other thread...Caspar!

daughterofafarmer · 08/10/2013 16:01

I like it but Rufus is better!

isitme1 · 08/10/2013 15:01

Bodi sounds like pudi which means faj in urdu...

SkodaLabia · 08/10/2013 14:58

Asa Brodie?

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 08/10/2013 13:32

Madamecastafiore · 08/10/2013 13:28

Sorry meant to add that Gabe is a cool NN that is why we liked Gabriel.

Madamecastafiore · 08/10/2013 13:27

What about Rupert or Reuben if you want the nn Ru?

Do you like Gabriel? We liked Rufus and Gabriel as our names for boys?

Madamecastafiore · 08/10/2013 13:26

Wanky

IWantToBeADragon · 08/10/2013 13:26

Ahhh the wailing thread is you... I didnt click on it before

Hormonal is the word here as well, something about names is making me veryyyyy weird, im pretty sure DH is about to move out with DSD unless we agree on a name in the next day or so, poor nameless babies *pout

I do like Asa Rufus still though

SkodaLabia · 08/10/2013 13:19

Now Brodie is a name I could get on board with.

What was wrong with Asa Rufus?

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 08/10/2013 13:08

I like it. I've heard dogs called it but not people. But in fairness they were beautiful dogs and I wouldn't class it as an insult for a namesake. I love the name!!

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 08/10/2013 13:08

I was

Until someone nicked my boys name.

There's a whole other wailing hormonal thread about it.

IWantToBeADragon · 08/10/2013 13:04

With your other two childrens names, yeah, seems to reflect your style quiet well... Although i thought you were done choosing Hmm lol

Oriunda · 08/10/2013 12:13

There's a Bodhi in DS nursery class. I like it.

nonmifairidere · 08/10/2013 11:02

Oh yeh, just what every kid wants, a 'try hard oh so cool' name.
