Elsie Florence is perfect! Smile

Notmyidea · 03/10/2013 12:43

my mum was Elsie Florence:D
She got called Ell, as in the opposite of heaven with the H dropped off, usually in a sarf London accent.
It's a very pretty name though. I think it goes best with a soft e middle name; Rose, Mae etc, even though they are very commonplace.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 03/10/2013 10:45

Elsie Anne
Elsie Meredith
Elsie Monroe
Elsie Noelle
Elsie Skylar

Someone told me recently their DD is expecting and is choosing Elsie.

I might be tempted to go with Elisabeth as suggested just because your DD could opt for variations when she's old enough.

I can't immediately think of mn to go with it, let me think.

Madratlady · 02/10/2013 22:32

I really like Elsie, it was one I would have considered if my baby had been a girl. I quite like 'old' names though.

ThisIsBULLSHIT · 02/10/2013 22:17

I like it, my dad's gm was Elsie and she was lovely. It's pretty!

I know of one - Elsie Rae - who is 1 year old.

I quite like the name though it is very old lady esque and I much prefer Elsa, Eliza or Elise.

Middle name suggestions:
Clementine
Alexandria
Georgiana
Seraphina
Valentina
Dorothea
Theadora
Liliana
Victoria
Bernadette
Magdalene

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 02/10/2013 21:27

Love it.

PereonallydI'd go with Elspeth or Elisabeth and use it as a nickname, but I think it's a perfectly lovely name on its own.

whilewildeisonmine · 02/10/2013 21:25

Elsie is a beautiful name. I like Elsie Frances, Elsie Penelope or Elsie Florence.

Justonemorebiteplease · 02/10/2013 21:24

Old lady names are not nice in my opinion, theres a reason they went out of fashion

thetigerwhocametoteax · 02/10/2013 20:43

Love Elspeth with nickname Elsie. Elspeth is a bit more classic and less likely to date?

yummymumtobe · 02/10/2013 19:23

I like it - it is quite pretty I think. You could call her Elisabeth with the nick name Elsie do she could change it in future if she wants too? Old lady names are vogue at the mo, but could become dated in a few years.

Flossiechops · 02/10/2013 19:20

No - it's a horrid ugly name imo!

Wishfulmakeupping · 02/10/2013 19:19

Elsie violet is nice.
I like Elsie it was a possible for me when I was expecting my dd but it was met with looks like this Shock whenever I told others. I think it will date like all the in vogue granny chic names but I still like it.
