Please can you tell me what first comes into your head and perhaps what sort of girl you think she might be. I love my boys names, have short listed to 4. But I haven't fallen in love with any name for a girl. I like them, or like them for other people...just not one for me!
I love longer names with a nn but hubby just likes nn. Fresh ideas welcome.
Weird mix of tastes I know...

Tabitha
Alana
Edith
Nell
Martha
Anastasia
Brooke
Autumn
Winnie
Sloane
Quinn
Clemmie
Scarlett
Tatum
Xanthe

Eden
Lilia
Cassidy
Tallulah
Bonnie
Tatiana
Saskia
Jemima
Sasha
Alicia
Constance
Florence
Annie

Thanks for all help xx

Really like Xanthe, prefer Ottoline to Ottilie but both are good, Edith,
Tabitha and Saskia are great as well.

DoItTooJulia · 01/10/2013 21:42

Like, not looks!

DoItTooJulia · 01/10/2013 21:42

I looks Ottille and Xanthe.

I know more boys called Quinn than girls, if that makes a difference?

The only name I like on the list is Scarlett

Some are way too hippy for me

Noggie · 01/10/2013 21:15

My husband and I took it in turns to cross out a name from our long list. We did this a few times and ended up with the same name each time- not the most romantic ways of naming a child but it worked! Maybe you could try that tactic and see which one makes it?! We have a Niamh and a Martha Grin

Tabitha - lovely (obviously feline to some)
Alana - redolent of 1970s
Edith - OK
Nell - OK if nn
Martha - OK, tend to think of the Biblical one - diligent, housewifely
Anastasia - lovely, fin de siècle decadent Russian
Brooke - unisex US
Autumn - Phillips
Winnie - bago or Mandela
Sloane - Square or Street
Quinn - yuk
Clemmie - OK if nn
Scarlett - like
Tatum - 1970s actress, played a prostituted child
Xanthe - OK, but a bit try-hard arty
Talia - lovely if spelt Thalia
Willow - 1980s try-too-hard nature name; insincere hippies
Ottilie - like
Savannah - Phillips
Eden - boys name
Lilia - OK
Cassidy - boys name
Tallulah - lovely (Irish saint)
Bonnie - father rides a Triumph
Tatiana - lovely, bit more staid that Anastasia
Saskia - lovely, and not inevitably Dutch
Jemima - lovely
Sasha - far too boyish/unisex
Alicia - OK
Constance - OK, but I always wonder if children will love up to virtue names
Florence - nice, but rather bovine
Annie - Ok if nn
Jasmine - OK
Sadie -lovely
Milla - OK
Cassia - OK, if you don't mind potential for multiple pronunciation
Cordelia - lovely (sweep,mexcellent voice)
Arabella - OK

The majority of these aren't my kind of names.
I love/like Autumn, Tatiana, Annie, Martha, Alana.

Milla sounds strange to me, and while I like them, Annie/Winnie sound more like nn to me. Quinn sounds more like a boys name to me.
