Ok...here is my list. DH has already poo-poo'd a few of them but I thought I'd post the whole list to give you a 'flavour' of the kind of names I like.

Cherry
Clementine
Calista
Luna
Misty
Persephone
Ramona
Aisling
Allegra
Claudia
Stella
Reina

Not even got round to thinking of middle names yet but suggestions welcome for first &/or middle names very very welcome. Smile

Ottilie?

Turniptwirl · 04/10/2013 14:54

I like Ramona, Calista and Aisling

oldspeckledtam · 04/10/2013 12:58

I know of a baby Aluna. Thought that was very pretty.

On your list I like Allegra, but as it's similar to a musical term (allegro) it might be a bit much to have Melody and Allegra!

gotthemoononastick · 02/10/2013 00:19

Celandine for the bright yellow wildflower, especially good on strawberry blondes or redhead curlytops.Have never seen it ,except for many generations down my family.(maybe outing myself).

CarriMarie · 01/10/2013 22:10

Ramona is my favourite and goes well with Melody.

AnnaNimitty · 01/10/2013 14:20

Cherry Like it. You may prefer the French version, CERISE
Clementine Yes
Calista No (Flockhart) Prefer Casilda or Calliope
Luna OK
Misty NO
Persephone My Dog's name
Ramona Not bad
Aisling Not keen
Allegra Quite nice, also like Aurora and Adelaide
Claudia OK, also like Claudine
Stella Prefer Estella
Reina No, prefer Renee

Oriunda · 01/10/2013 07:40

From your list I love Persephone (would have been DD name if she'd not turned out to be DS). Also like Allegra (nice meaning too) and as someone mentioned above, Aurora would be fabulous. Aurelia is also a good alternative (if DH had vetoed Persephone).

Rest are ok though don't like Misty/Aisling/Luna. Not v keen on Cherry .... too American or think of 'popped my' etc etc.

charles

Stop bloody saying pandora,I've got one 5weeks away from being born and I really really don't want it to all of a sudden do a ruby.Grin

GillyBillyWilly · 29/09/2013 09:52

If dd1 is melody then maybe call dd2 harmony!

Thants · 29/09/2013 09:38

Ramona is an awesome name

ToffeeCaramel · 29/09/2013 09:23

I like Cherry, Clementine and Stella

EldritchCleavage · 29/09/2013 01:15

This is Reina. Charming fellow, but no, surely? Your DD will be nicknamed 'Pepe', for starters.

allyfe · 27/09/2013 20:05

Cherry - don't like it at all
Clementine - not so keen
Calista - okay
Luna - not until harry potter is no longer popular
Misty - nope
Persephone - love it but I would imagine it would rarely get used in full
Ramona - not keen
Aisling - Quite like it
Allegra - okay, but I prefer Aurora (that I LOVE but wasn't allowed)
Claudia - don't like it
Stella - prefer Estelle
Reina - Nope

I also love Lucia

I know Fellatio...the 'far out' comment was tongue firmly in cheek Wink

Oh dear....there are just too many that I really like at the moment. I will have to have about 6 more DC to use all the names I love (or just this one with a million middle names).

Glad I've still got some time to go...can't remember with DD1 when we settled on her name exactly but I think it was more third trimester.

Thanks for all feedback/suggestions x

Don't like Misty. The rest are nice. And not especially far out.

Frontdoorstep · 27/09/2013 19:52

I like Aisling, Claudia and Stella best. The others aren't too bad, not what I'd choose but that's ok.

defineme · 27/09/2013 19:46

I like the Jamie T song too-I'd forgotten how much I liked him so thank you, but the Stella song that is lodged in my brain is by Ida Maria-unfortunately I think it's about an ageing prostitute- still a lovely song though!

PurpleGirly · 27/09/2013 18:43

Talitha makes me think of Tulisa with a lisp!

Love clementine, with a middle name like Jane or Rose.

Love Aurelie.

curlew · 27/09/2013 18:36

Aislin is the proper spelling isn't it? Lovely name
and lovely meaning.

BryonyBear · 27/09/2013 18:27

I think I distant relative would be justifiable on Aisling, please don't change the spelling (hate that). Whatever decision you make I'm sure it will be perfect for your daughter.x

fishandlilacs · 27/09/2013 18:24

Stella NO-wife beater beer associations

Calista is lovely especially with your surname (Waves!!)

I dont like allegra or claudia

I know a lovely lovely Ramona, if yours turns out anything like her you'd have a DD to be proud of.

The rest I have no opinions on.

magicstars · 27/09/2013 17:58

I think the name Cherry means charity & is actually quite an old fashioned name (I know one in her 70's). Shame it has become unpopular due to 'pop ya' connotations IMO.

Layana · 27/09/2013 17:51

My only reservation with Calista is the muppet Flockhart.
With slight "insider advantage":
Still think Merissa would be nice. And, as before Persephone.
What about Rhian/Rhiannon?

MoonHare · 27/09/2013 17:35

Stella and Ramona are great from your original list, not keen on any of the others.

Like Talitha and Alethea too. I do love a girls name ending in 'a'.

Perdita is the female dog in 101 Dalmatians.

Throwing a few others out there; Camille, Felice, Ingrid, Ursula, Esme, Anita, Astrid, Veryan, Esther, Jocasta.
