I really like it. Well known, but under-used (at the moment, anyway).

DS has an absolutely delightful and very pretty kindergarten teacher called Sadie, so that helps my association.

ch1134 - Sadie was the flighty, airhead American girl in Enid Blyton's St Clare's boarding school series...?!

leesam · 27/09/2013 22:21

My dog was called Sadie and I think of Jodie foster character in the film ACcussed , sorry x

Retroformica · 26/09/2013 22:50

It's a bit sexy as far as names go

Sadie204 · 26/09/2013 21:47

Fab name choice lol! My married surname is only 1 syllable and it sounds fine. Can honestly say I've never been called a sadist Confused nor had anyone ever make that link before reading it on here! Though from experience she will probably get called 'sad' a lot and will have the song 'daisy, daisy' sung to her with the name replaced!!

Zoe6789 · 26/09/2013 19:30

I love it!

littlewhitebag · 26/09/2013 19:08

My dog is called Sadie! She is very beautiful though. We call her Sadism when she is being naughty.

rachel234 · 26/09/2013 12:41

Looks like Sad-ie so someone who is very Sad.

elcranko · 26/09/2013 07:34

I think Sadie is lovely.

kiwik · 26/09/2013 03:34

I disliked a girl at school with this name - for no reason other than she had those odd white spots on her nails and they freaked me out.
I've never met any one else with the name since, so I associate it with her.

BangOn · 25/09/2013 21:58

Sadist. sorry.

KatOD · 25/09/2013 21:53

Love it. TootsFroots, you'd love our NCT group, 2 of the 3 girls are Sadie and Stella.

WafflyVersatile · 25/09/2013 21:50

Possibly. I'm struggling to remember from what in my Childhood I remember it.

MoreThanWords · 25/09/2013 21:22

I like it.

Was there a Sadie in the St Clare's series of books?

BlueShirtBlueTie · 25/09/2013 21:07

Makes me think of Sadie the bra lady Blush.

So a no from me.

WafflyVersatile · 25/09/2013 20:49

I like it.

Dilligufdarling · 25/09/2013 20:46

I've only known dogs called Sadie (3 of them!) sorry!

Hawkmoth · 25/09/2013 20:33

I like it, but could she live with the Beatles song 'Sexy Sadie'?

pudseypie · 25/09/2013 20:31

One of my friends dd is called this and she's such a sweetie and I like the name

alwaysneedaholiday · 25/09/2013 20:16

Strangely, I was discussing this name today with a friend....the consensus was no....sorry.

ErrolTheDragon · 25/09/2013 20:12

I know a 7 year old Sadie who is a really cool kid. Makes a nice change from all the Sophies.

poppingin1 · 25/09/2013 20:12

I really like it which surprises me.

Simple, not very common and sweet sounding.

mamalovebird · 25/09/2013 20:11

Like it. Was on my list for dd but couldn't really use due to our surname :(

cherrytomato40 · 25/09/2013 20:10

I think it's lovely, either as a stand alone name or a NN for Sarah.

CordeliaRose · 25/09/2013 20:09

I like it ; I don't know any Sadies either apart from Sadie Frost
