I prefer Katherine as you can have Katie/Kate but several friends prefer Catherine as that is the correct spelling. Confused

Catherine

My mum is Katherine but I dislike Kath as she is known. What is the traditional spelling?

Catherine is the only one worth using, all the others are imposters, you could always use Cate, think ms Blanchett :)

It's from a Greek word so K is the correct spelling.

NettoSuperstar · 23/09/2013 18:37

Katharine, with a K and and A!, like Hepburn.

Katharine.

I like both

Catherine - classic and lovely

MummyPigsFatTummy · 23/09/2013 18:29

Catherine - you can still have Katie/Kate - look at Kate Middleton

AnneEyhtMeyer · 23/09/2013 18:29

Katherine with a K.

This opinion is based solely on being a fan of Anne of Green Gables.

I think Catherine is classier and classic. I foot like Kathryn (I don't tend to like k names or ys where I don't usually see them). However I think its down to personal taste.
