Me and hubby have been discussing baby names and although we have got a girl's name we like there is not a single boys name that either of us can say, "I like it."

We are having a sexing scan in 3 weeks and hopefully they will say it's a girl otherwise we are screwed Grin

We just don't like ANYTHING!!

I need some inspiration - what are you ladies calling your boys lately???

Why not wait until the baby is born ? If it is a boy, he will look like a Harry or a Liam or whatever name that just suits.
I like Nathan, fwiw. Nice name, that. Smile

Writerwannabe83 · 30/09/2013 21:54

The baby's middle name is going to be John (family tradition) and I know if I had a boy called Oliver John I would forever be thinking of Olivia Newton John Grin

Definitely not a fan of Alfie!!! Smile
(no offence to any Alfie's out there of course)

What's it all about Alfie ?

CleverOl10 · 30/09/2013 21:20

My son is called Oliver. I love the name - but don't have a back up if we have another son!

pebblepots · 29/09/2013 11:09

I think you are dismissing names you like for reasons that don't matter, that's why you're having so much trouble!

Really, once you call your child a name you won't be thinking of someone else's mum or some acquaintance's child with the same name, who you may not even be in touch with in a couple of years.

Evan Liam and William are actually different names so why veto it.

Writerwannabe83 · 29/09/2013 09:42

My sisters little boy is called William. Smile

Me and DH did like Liam at one point but felt having a William and a Liam was a bit much...

Hi Writer Smile. How is your pg going? I'm very jealous!

I like Harry btw - really nice name (though I used to hate it; funny how taste chnges). I also like:

Tom
Rafe
Rafferty
James
Jamie
Jake

if that helps at all!

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 28/09/2013 15:17

If you like Zoe Caroline and you don't like names that are "out there" then I presume you like other classic 70s/80s baby names:

Peter
Christopher
Jason
Matthew
Scott
Nicholas
Andrew
Robert
Ryan
Daniel
David
Michael

Hubby has come up with 2 names that he likes, Kian and Harrison.

I like the name Kian, (pronounced key-un) and I know of one, but unfortunately whenever I hear the name I think of this child's mother - and her image is definitely not something I want in my mind every time I use my son's name Grin

And as for Harrison, I didn't think I would like surnamey-names but it is definitely growing on me!! And I love the idea of Harry as a nickname Smile

For DC4 we had already picked a boys name (Connor), chosen straight away so typically she is minus a winkie lol! Having a hard time choosing girls names this time as we used up all the ones we liked with DD1 and DD2. Our DS is called Dylan and chose his name pretty quickly. Our 2 older girls would probably have been called Brandon and Riley if they were boys (although quite pleased now as I've changed my mind about both and don't like them as much as I did then)

UriGeller · 27/09/2013 14:54

Joe. I want another baby so I can call him Joe.

Dylemma · 27/09/2013 14:52

If DD had been a DS, our names were Alex, Miles, Leo, Theo and Johnny (John for bcert).

Happy to share Smile

TwickyWoo · 27/09/2013 14:05

Oh gosh - glad it isn't just us then. I had lots of lovely girls names, but we can't decide on one boys name! I'm due in 12 weeks and now know we're having a boy, so still plenty of time left, but we've been looking and talking about it since we knew we were pregnant so I'm starting to feel the pressure - lol!

EstelleGetty · 24/09/2013 08:52

How about:

Leonard - could be Leo or Lennie for short
Edward - whole manner of nicknames, like Teddy, Ed, Ted, etc

emmyloo2 · 24/09/2013 08:46

Alexander? Owen? I like really old fashioned names so won't offer you any of the names I adore but I think these two are more modern. Other names at my son's day care are Jacob, Edward, Ezekiel, Cameron, Felix, Samuel, Oscar, Xavier....

Any good?
