Goodness yes I meant to say I would have Jonny only as a shortening for Jonathan or lengthening for John!

Neither. Call him John, and keep Johnny as your pet name for him. One day he may be a professor or a high court judge. Good, solid "proper" given names will sound so much better.

I prefer Jonny, don't like the h as to me it is a shortening of Jonathan. Jonny looks right to me and I have harboured a serious crush for Jonny Wilkinson for many years! Grin
