Can't decide between these two names.

Luna I worry will become very popular, trendy and date. Bit like Isla.

Lara I worry is too sensible, but it does feel more classic.

Thoughts please!!

Definitely not loony Luna(tic)! The Harry potter character is loopy too, if I recall.... Sorry if that's harsh Blush

Lara is good, as are Laura and Lana in my opinion.

oohdaddypig · 17/09/2013 13:59

I'm sure Laura must be due a comeback....

Luna will always be lunATIC to me. Lara is ok but surely is missing a "u" :)

I don't usually comment on baby names threads, but had to say NOOO to Luna as it sounds like it's short for Lunatic. Isla is pretty.

Any child called Luna is going to get called "LunaTIC" at school. Go for Lara.

MadBusLady · 17/09/2013 13:50

Lana is beautiful, and I think will be less used than either of the others.

squoosh · 17/09/2013 13:50

Lara, definitely.

Luna = loony or lunatic. Not a good name.

LeoandBoosmum · 17/09/2013 13:45

Penelope Cruz just called her daughter Luna. I think it's pretty...is it Spanish for moon? I do - in my head - automatically follow it with tic, unfortunately :( I'm not fussed on Lara because I automatically think Lara Croft. Probably not as fashionable at the moment but had you considered Laura? I think it's a very pretty, feminine name and close to Lara. Lila is nice too...I can only think of one (Kate Moss's daughter) :)

roweeena · 17/09/2013 13:42

Lara definitely

Luna just makes me think lunatic

AndWhenYouGetThere · 17/09/2013 13:34

Lara.

(Or Lyra?)

Saffyz · 17/09/2013 13:24

Lara, as nickname for Larissa.

Luna is nice but there would be too many people thinking that "lunatic" was an amusing nickname.

Or how about Lana, Louisa, Laura?

TrucksAndDinosaurs · 17/09/2013 13:23

Luna will get nn Loony or Loo :(

OutragedFromLeeds · 17/09/2013 13:22

Lara.

Luna is too slebby and try-hard imo.

FingersCrossedLegsNot · 17/09/2013 10:58

Luna beautiful, unusual and pretty. I think it may get a little surge in popularity but because it is more out there won't go top50 anyway!
