A sibling for Byron?

It took us a ridiculous amount of time to agree on Byron's name. DH has....eclectic taste name wise. So now number 2 is cooking and I am flummoxed.
So far we have:
Atticus (Byron was very nearly called this but I've gone off it a bit)
Caspian - we both like but don't love this.
Tiberius - DH favourite.
Aegeaus - Dh's other suggestion.

Girl wise we have only 1 name we can agree on:
Ariadne.

And that's it, we're at a veto impasse.
Help please?

Bruno - name of beloved family dog

Sabrina - name of DH ex.

Bruno or Sabrina

DiscoBiscuits · 12/09/2013 00:36

Why do you consider them weird?

DiscoBiscuits · 12/09/2013 00:35

I love love love Seraphina.

Guess who vetoed it?
Angry

Why on earth do you want to call your children weird names.

Is this normal.

MsMarple · 12/09/2013 00:32

Xerxes is a cool name!
Although, Lysander sounds good with Byron...
I'd avoid Antigone, for the same reasons that I wouldn't go for Ophelia.
Gaia? Seraphina is my favourite girls name, but maybe not eclectic enough for you?

DiscoBiscuits · 12/09/2013 00:31

DH has vetoed Hugo! I should sell him shouldn't I?

But then who'd do the washing up?

OP posts:
CloudyBayDrainageSystem · 12/09/2013 00:30

And Hugo if its a boy.

DiscoBiscuits · 12/09/2013 00:29

I had not thought of that.

I really sort of love that!

Has to be Antigone. They'll be calling themselves ronny and tiggers when they're teenagers, which still works as a coupling.

DiscoBiscuits · 12/09/2013 00:27

I have been pondering Celeste and Serena, both very pretty. Thank you

Minerva is lovely! I forgotten Minerva. On the list it goes.

DH had suggested Remus 1st time around and I vetoed but it is growing on me. (or maybe in me?)

Phoebe is lovely but we know of at least 3 locally.
Elijah is similarly very popular.

Oakley is on for consideration, thank you.

boardingschoolbaby · 12/09/2013 00:18

Celeste?

Rockinhippy · 12/09/2013 00:17

Auberon, Rodin, Michelangelo, Remus,

Augusta, Persephone, Asteria, Minerva,

PurpleGirly · 12/09/2013 00:14

Byron and Phoebe
Byron and Oscar ( is perfect but you DH said no!)
So ....
Byron and Oakley? Elijah?

DiscoBiscuits · 12/09/2013 00:06

It is better than DH other suggestion of Xerxes though? I have to let some through the veto or he gets a bit miffed.

OP posts:
ILikeRed · 12/09/2013 00:05

Please don't name your child Tiberius....

DiscoBiscuits · 12/09/2013 00:03

Flavia, I am a bit unsure on. I can't help but think of the beautiful dancer from Strictly and any poor daughter of mine is more likely to be a bit clumsy and accident prone, rather than graceful & elegant. It wouldn't seem fair!

OP posts:
BiscuitMillionaire · 11/09/2013 23:59

Oscar

Flavia

DiscoBiscuits · 11/09/2013 23:56

Oscar- vetoed (this is my favourite but is an absolute no from DH)
Tabitha I love but is the name of my best friend.

OP posts:
DiscoBiscuits · 11/09/2013 23:54

And which names exactly do you suggest would be ...challenging?

These are the tamer suggestions. I've already vetoed Xerxes, Stalin and Eglamont.

Or would you prefer I name it something cr8tive?

OP posts:
boardingschoolbaby · 11/09/2013 23:53

Antigone is lovely for a girl, if you like Tiggy, what about Tabby too as in Tabitha?

I had never thought about Tits for Titus. The one we know gets Ty occasionally but never tits as it is pronounced so differently.
What about Oscar or Hector? Or are these too mainstream?

MmmmWhiteWine · 11/09/2013 23:43

Sorry to say and I really don't mean to be rude but those names are, er, challenging. You run the risk that your poor child will be ridiculed....

DiscoBiscuits · 11/09/2013 23:39

Antigone is going on the list!

Augustus is another veto - damn Roald Dahl!

DH has grudgingly agreed to Hephzibah also?

OP posts:
DiscoBiscuits · 11/09/2013 23:35

No thank you

I am not so concerned with the second name being a direct link to Byron (we finally settled on that for very personal reasons to us both). In fact I'd prefer if it wasn't connected, I just need something that can work with it and not jar too much but that we can both agree on.
I fear I am searching for the impossible.
