A sibling for Byron?

It took us a ridiculous amount of time to agree on Byron's name. DH has....eclectic taste name wise. So now number 2 is cooking and I am flummoxed.
So far we have:
Atticus (Byron was very nearly called this but I've gone off it a bit)
Caspian - we both like but don't love this.
Tiberius - DH favourite.
Aegeaus - Dh's other suggestion.

Girl wise we have only 1 name we can agree on:
Ariadne.

And that's it, we're at a veto impasse.
Help please?

AlansCat, I am so wondering if that's the case...newest arrival is only a couple of weeks old. I may have to ask.

Oriunda, why on earth would you want to call your daughter Nemesis? Circe is little better. She was a witch and a murderess in Greek mythology, famous for turning all Odysseus' men into swine.

There is a kid at my son's school called Michaelangelo, and no, he is never 'Mike'. He has 3 siblings (boys) and I am dying to know what they are called!

Leonardo, Donatello and Raphael. Obviously Grin

ISeeNoReasonForBandage · 18/09/2013 21:38

Jolyon

Hero
Zena

Seraphina was the first name which sprang to mind, but I note it's already been vetoed Sad

MerryMarigold · 18/09/2013 21:27

I think Hephzibah is pushing it a little too far.

I LOVE Atticus, Atti or At for short. My dh vetoed it and to be fair most people I ran it by laughed. But I still love it!

TheLeftovermonster · 18/09/2013 18:11

For a girl, Aurora will fit both the ancient history theme and the early 20th century Russia Smile

JamieandtheMagicTorch · 18/09/2013 08:07

Panacea ?

Oriunda · 18/09/2013 02:40

Isis is lovely. Like Caspian for a boy.

How do you feel about Circe? Have always loved but I gather it's a character from Game of Thrones (never watched). My other dream names for girls are Nemesis and Persephone (so naturally had a DS! ).

DiscoBiscuits · 17/09/2013 21:45

I bet it's the same Thor! V small world indeed!

I like Nefertari for a girl but the OH is unconvinced.

How weird, I've know 2 adult Thors & one of those was from North Wales too, but I knew him years ago in London.

I'm afraid I'm in agreement that Felix is becoming popular - I know of 3 babies with that name & several more under 11s & that's just the ones I know.

I like Isis too, pretty with lovely connections

the Egyptian goddess names are difficult as the ones that sound pretty enough to be used as a girls name seem to have the stranger looking goddesses, frogs, hippo etc or not so nice connections, but that said I also like Nieth

also - Ceres, Aine, Selene, Ceridwen, Heloise

Darwin still stands out best to me op from your boys list :)

DiscoBiscuits · 17/09/2013 21:00

I know your Thor! His Dad had a Romeo & Juliet name too?

Lovescourgettes · 17/09/2013 20:32

I believe yes in Llangollen disco biscuits ! Small world/unusual name!

DragonsAreReal · 17/09/2013 20:26

The Byron I know has a sister called Ruby.

DiscoBiscuits · 17/09/2013 20:21

I used to work with a Thor! He didn't ever reside in North Wales too did he?

Lovescourgettes · 17/09/2013 20:13

One of my parents friend's children is called Thor. It was considered extremely unusual at the time (late eighties Cheshire) I love it ( I could never get away with it dh would revolt...)

AlansCatalanCat · 17/09/2013 19:46

Felix is waaay too trendy atm.

I like Dahlia, but only with the correct pronunciation, ie with Dahl as in Roald.

Don't think I've seen Isis mentioned here before. Quite like that.

mathanxiety · 17/09/2013 19:41

Eirene

DiscoBiscuits · 17/09/2013 19:29

I have been through the whole list with him and can get a Yes to:

Ariadne, Dahlia, Isis.

Atticus, Caspian, Felix, Darwin and Constantin.

Felix is a big step forward as I've been harping on about it for a while but previously it's always been a straight out No.

Any more for any more?

Sorry if its already been mentioned but have you considered Ursula?

DiscoBiscuits · 16/09/2013 13:59

Wow! I've been covering a load of shifts and come back to some amazing names!
Thank you so much. I'll make a cuppa and go through them all properly.
