Brother for Tristan?

It took us 5 weeks and 6 days to choose a name for DS1 (and even then, I was wobbling) but now DS2 has come along and I'd like to name him a bit quicker! ignores the fact that he's 3 weeks old already

Names so far:

Oscar - love this but we know lots of Oscars already and it's very popular
Theo - I can't reconcile myself (stupidly I know!) to giving him a shortened version of a name, and I'm not a fan of Theodore
Caspian - current favorite, but when I've been subtly sounding it out with a few family members, they've thought it was pretty pretentious and on par with Tarquin
Caspar
Zacariah - not keen on Zac though
Lysander
Silas
And at this point, Baby. It's unique, suits him and it means I don't have to bloody think of another name!

Any suggestions gratefully received or just validation that Caspian is a perfectly acceptable name

Like jasper too

impatienttobemummy · 11/09/2013 20:39

Ours is called baby too! I might steal Tristan for DS2!
Don't go for Oscar there are lots.

EugenesAxe · 11/09/2013 20:28

That's what I thought yegods. Or James.

yegodsandlittlefishes · 11/09/2013 20:24

Siegfried of course!

Clargo55 · 11/09/2013 20:23

Or Castiel, Cassius? Nn Cass.

Clargo55 · 11/09/2013 20:21

What about the Tobias (Toby) suggestion from above? Or Nathaniel? Nn Nate.

How about more Cornish names to go with Tristan?

Sebastian

I love Barnaby, Bartholemew, Elias and Gabriel but DP vetoed them. Dylan was on the list too but we know a few Dylans so decided against it.

It's such a responsibility, and in my sleep deprived state I'm not trusting my judgement. I spent a good few days wondering about "Oswald" - didn't particularly like the name but thought it sounded good with Tristan until DP pointed out we'd have a Tristan and Oswald which isn't a million miles away from Tristan and Isolde! Elias is yummy - a zillion times nicer than Silas.

Clargo55 · 11/09/2013 20:08

How about Tristan and Elias? Nn Eli, I think they sound lovely together.

Silas is my favourite from your list.

Toomuch2young · 11/09/2013 20:07

Love Oscar and theo. Hate Silas!

What about Tobias? Or Saul?
Tristan is a gorgeous name.

Plannersareus · 11/09/2013 20:06

Toby

dizzy77 · 11/09/2013 20:04

Jasper? Hugo? Barnaby? Rupert?

rockybalboa · 11/09/2013 20:03

Similar sound to Tristan even...

rockybalboa · 11/09/2013 20:02

Loooove Caspian but it does have quite a similar sound to Caspian. What about Casper or Jasper? I have a Barnaby so would highly recommend that. We had Tristan on our list for DS2 and names we have also considered are Gabriel, Miles, Magnus, Fergus, Angus, Felix...

SPBisResisting · 11/09/2013 20:00

We were going to go for arthur or dylan. Dd is glad we didn't

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/09/2013 19:58

gorgeous

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/09/2013 19:58

Congratulations.

Tristan is gorgeos and tbh none of your list (to me) feel as good. Oscar is my favourite. Not overfond of Caspian. Actively dislike Silas, sorry.
