Which do you think is nicer Phoebe or Naomi? I can't decide.

Interested to hear any names that you think are similar to these!

Thanks!

Phoebe is gorgeous though very trendy right now so night date a bit. Naomi on the other hand is lovely but a bit dated in some people's eyes (there was another thread on here recently, and everyone put it in the 70s) - but that will make it more uncommon and not dated for DD's generation! They're quite different - which one makes you happiest?

Other -e/I/ie sounds be also be interesting...
Noemi
Daphne
Eleni
Elodie
Bethany

I love Naomi !

Lutrine · 31/08/2013 20:49

I love them both, Naomi ever so slightly more. My DH had a ex called this so it got struck off the list early on, bah!

Leeds2 · 31/08/2013 20:43

I prefer Naomi. Know one (15) who is lovely. I know two Phoebes, but they are both canines!

Only thing that would bother me with Naomi is that some people would pronounce it as Nay-omi and some as Nye-omi. Might be annoying.

Layl77 · 31/08/2013 20:34

Like phoebe, probably more popular then Naomi at the moment. I know 2 one pn Nay-oh-me (like namie) one more NY-oh-me like Naomi Campbell

Sadie204 · 31/08/2013 19:33

Lol Remus must be nothing to do with a name cos my DD has had some diva moments of her own lately Wink Hers are usually near bedtime though!

Actually reminded me that I love Noelle though. Did consider it for DD2 but as she was born xmas eve, it seemed a bit tacky to use lol!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/08/2013 18:38

Sadie - she IS lovely but she does have her Campbell moments (usually when she's hungry!). Fifi is v v cute.

Hawk - love Noemie too.

hawkmcqueen · 31/08/2013 18:16

I really like Naomi, not too popular either. Also love Noemie but DH not keen on latter

treaclesoda · 31/08/2013 17:45

I love Naomi, and its much more unusual than Phoebe too.

Sadie204 · 31/08/2013 17:37

Remus I'm sure your Naomi is lovely and nothing like Naomi Campbell. That's just the only one I've known lol but I'm sure my opinion would be different if I had known one in RL!

My Phoebe used to call herself Fifi before she could say her own name properly! Was very cute but now she corrects anyone who dares say it wrong Grin

Iamgoodbutnotanangel · 29/08/2013 16:59

Oh it's pretty mixed for both! I wasn't thinking of a biblical name, it's just a coincidence.

I quite like Amber too, her big brothers are named Jack and Lenny if that's any help! I think perhaps Jack, Lenny and Phoebe rolls off the tongue easier than Jack, Lenny and Naomi?

Thanks for all your help Ladies :-)

I like both, but Phoebe a teeny bit more!

LittleprincessinGOLDrocks · 29/08/2013 11:06

Naomi

buttercrumble · 29/08/2013 07:03

Phoebe Smile

BlueStarsAtNight · 29/08/2013 07:02

I prefer Phoebe

kiwik · 29/08/2013 06:25

I like Phoebe, but don't like the feeble sound.

Don't like how Naomi can be pronounced in different ways - and in a NZ accent it doesn't sound nice at all.

Silly phone yet again posted earlier than I wanted! Apologies.

... Know a couple of Naomi's and I find it quite harsh sounding.

Similar names to yours are

Iris? Very nice name
Melanie? Have always liked it and must be due a comeback

looki · 28/08/2013 22:43

Phoebe is very pretty. I much prefer it and don't know anyone with this name. I don't like Naomi at all and know a cou

chocolatecrispies · 28/08/2013 22:42

I thought about Phoebe but was worried she might get called Feeble by her brother:(.

Saffyz · 28/08/2013 22:38

Naomi

exoticfruits · 28/08/2013 22:35

Naomi

justhayley · 28/08/2013 22:33

Love both but Phoebe is on my list so will go with that more.

Are you looking for a biblical name in particular or is It coincidence?
I actually think Phoebe Naomi works nicely together - if you can't decide use both :)

sleepingbeautiful · 28/08/2013 22:10

Much prefer Naomi.
It sounds better in more accents, is less commonly used, and is traditional but looks modern.

chartreuse · 28/08/2013 21:52

Phoebe, I have one too.
