I'm very early days but have always loved these names. Which do you prefer? Middle name would be Rose after my grandma.

Lydia Rose
Alicia Rose (pronounced al-iss-ee-ya definitely not al-ee-sha)

Dd is Chloe

I like Alicia, but don't like the ambiguity over pronunciation, so definitely Lydia for me.

Nospringflower · 28/08/2013 22:06

Alicia

Alisvolatpropiis · 28/08/2013 21:57

I like Lydia but can never get past a former schools friend calling her sister Lydia Chlmydia when she was feeling spiteful.

Ruined the name for me.

Alisvolatpropiis · 28/08/2013 21:56

Alicia.

Alicia - my mum's name. But she does get all sorts of spellings and pronounciations. (Hers is Al-ee-si-ah the Bluestars way).

(But def not Alicia Rose if your surname is Smith, or similar!)

Lottiedoubtie · 28/08/2013 18:04

Alicia, it would never have occurred to me to pronounce it wrong.

JamieandtheMagicTorch · 28/08/2013 18:02

Lydia

or

Would you consider Sylvia??

BlueStarsAtNight · 28/08/2013 17:57

Another vote for Lydia. There's too much scope for Alicia to be mispronounced (I'd have said Al-ee-si-ah), and I think Chloe and Lydia sound lovely together.

Alicia - this is my DD3 (al-iss-ee-ya) and yes she does get annoyed when it is pronounced wrong but we still love it!

Leeds2 · 28/08/2013 10:42

Lydia.

MERLYPUSS · 28/08/2013 10:08

Go with Lydia. No one will ever pronounce Alicia the correct way. My relation has even had arguments with colleages that they pronounce it wrong! Al ee see ah. I prefer Alicia btw.

Gooseysgirl · 28/08/2013 09:10

Maybe go with Lydia if the 'Aleesha' pronunciation annoys you as I think you will have to correct people about how you want it pronounced, might get a bit frustrating... But both are really lovely names Smile

mignonette · 28/08/2013 09:04

We have a lot of Lydia's in our family. I really love this name.

But Alicia close to my heart too because she was a character in Malory Towers.

FriskyHenderson · 28/08/2013 09:02

Lydia, but then I'm biasedWink.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 28/08/2013 08:40

Tough. Lydia was our runner up name for dd1 so I thought we'd use it for dd2. We ended up with Alice :) I'd say Lydia. I kind of regret that we didn't use that.
