Clara or Cordelia

I like them both. I think for Cordelia we'd probably go with Cora as a nn. I imagine Clara might be a bit more popular at the moment but how much? Do you know children by either name? Smile

I like both, but probably prefer Clara.

Snazzyenjoyingsummer · 30/08/2013 23:24

Cordelia.

savvymoo · 30/08/2013 23:22

Much prefer Cordelia.

Rhubarbgarden · 30/08/2013 23:10

I prefer Clara. Cordelia is too long and fussy for me.

Moog72 · 30/08/2013 23:09

I love Clara, does remind me of Heidi... but that is lovely memory of a childhood book.

DalmationDots · 30/08/2013 23:06

I love Cordelia, bit different
Can be Cordie or Delia as a nn

Yonionekanobe · 30/08/2013 19:52

Yep, vetoed by DH Sad. DD2 is going to be born with no name.

Freshlysqueezed · 30/08/2013 16:45

Clara is a fab name

littlemog · 30/08/2013 15:39

Like Cora, don't like Cordelia and don't like Clara. So I am no help to you! Cordelia also has a hard time in Lear doesn't she?!

newmumsuchfun · 30/08/2013 15:16

I have never met either a clara or a Cordelia - but i LOVE both of them. And I think I may nick Clara if I ever have a girl (oh how i want a girl). Clara is the name of a woman from a novel and it's now bugging me which one....? I would go for Clara if I had to choose but only because Cordelia reminds me of King Lear. But I love them both.

Yonionekanobe · 30/08/2013 15:11

I love Cordelia and have it on list for DD2. Unfortunately I think DH may veto it. No taste.

commsgirl · 30/08/2013 10:58

Clara's on my list, I love it!

UriGeller · 30/08/2013 06:23

I like them both! I think Cordelia wins out though.

I remember a documentary about poverty in britain ages ago with this sweet little mite called Cordy, she talked about "mi ma, brushin mi 'air" or something similar. I loved Cordelia (and especially Cordy) from that moment. Wonder what happened to her?

ZeroTolerance · 30/08/2013 05:27

Hmm...see I don't know anyone in real-life of either name.

Am thinking Clara though.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 29/08/2013 17:39

I like both names actually.

Clara from he Nutcracker and Cordelia from The Happiest Millionaire (although she had the nn Cordi).

That wasn't very helpful, was it!

I'd probably choose Cordelia, if it were my choice.

I love Cordelia

GreatJoanUmber · 28/08/2013 18:08

Love Cordelia, it's on my list! Sadly DH isn't keen.

I know one 5yo Clara, but no Cordelias.

OldRoan · 28/08/2013 18:00

Jimbo I know a Southern Claire-a!

I love Cordelia, and really really like Cora OP.
