Feeling sick to my stomach that Katie Price has just named her baby the same name as my son!

Currently holding my head in my hands rocking back and forth screaming "whhhhyyyyyyyyyyy?!?!"

Well, not really..... But I feel like doing that. I thought I had hit the jackpot with Jett, unique yet masculine and not too weird sounding and now KATIE PRICE has named her son Jett too.

Sorry, just had to have a rant. :(

You're welcome, Vegemite. Smile

GiveMeVegemite · 19/08/2013 07:07

anjou thanks for actually being nice about my post, which was in no way trying to be snobby, it was more tongue in cheek. I was just disappointed that Jett may now become popular because Katie Price has used it.

I don't give a flying f*#+k whether any other users on this site actually LIKE the name. I love it and it suits my little boy and that's all that matters.

I quite like Jett, but I am sure there have been several other celebrity babies called this as it is very familiar, yet unusual and I have never met one.

Don't worry op, I'm sure it will be one more popular but I doubt it will become overly popular.

AberdeenAngusina · 19/08/2013 03:13

I think you're safe enough. If you'd named your son Harvey, no-one would think you were naming him after KP's son.

Jett isn't as "out there" are Princess or Junior; it's a perfectly good name.

Enjoy your DS!

3boysgirlontheway · 19/08/2013 02:00

I always liked Jethro for a boy, glad I didn't use it now.

Katie prices story is very strange.

LazyMonkeyButler · 19/08/2013 00:41

I really like the name Jett - I doubt I'd ever have managed to get DH to agree, but I love it!

I do feel bad making a joke about it, as KP ended up having an emergency C-section & baby Jett is 8 weeks prem but when I heard the name I immediately thought "ah, conceived in Torquay" Blush.

I wouldn't worry too much about a popularity rise OP - there may well be one, but because of the way KP is viewed in the UK, there will just as many parents looking to name their babies anything other than Jett.

Lighthousekeeping · 19/08/2013 00:37

Chime, she said all along that she'd never been so big in pregnancy meaning her baby could be on the large size. What are you getting at????

Anjou · 19/08/2013 00:34

OnTheBottom: self indulgent because, if no one has asked for your opinion why on earth would you think that anyone would give a flying fuck as to whether you like it or not? You & your opinion are really not that special. Some people seem to think that it's MUCH more important to give everyone their unasked for opinion than it is to be civil of polite. It's really quite tiresome.

I think that any name chosen by KP can almost guarantee it will not become a popular baby's name.

pictish · 19/08/2013 00:19

Ugh.

OnTheBottomWithAWomensWeekly · 19/08/2013 00:18

Youre right, there is no excuse for ops post.

ChimeForChange · 19/08/2013 00:17

It's all very suspicious really....

8 weeks early and weighed 5lb 2?

pictish · 19/08/2013 00:15

That's no excuse, and you know it.

OnTheBottomWithAWomensWeekly · 19/08/2013 00:14

Its your woman actual real child as well, perhaps you and op should remember that.

Onesleeptillwembley · 19/08/2013 00:12

The OP is happy to call Katie Price names, Chavvy springs to mind. The name she has chosen herself is horrendous, pot, kettle and all that.

pictish · 19/08/2013 00:08

I agree with anjou!

How rude some of you are!! That is her child's name - her actual real child! None of you would dare be so rude about her son's name to her face would you?

Keep your sneering to yourselves for fuck sake you ill mannered gits!

OP - yanbu. When we called our ds1 Oscar, we had never heard of a single other Oscar (he is 11 now). Now they are everywhere, and there was even a baby on Eastenders called Oscat. Killed me. I'm over it now...but I get you. x

OnTheBottomWithAWomensWeekly · 19/08/2013 00:04

I dont think you mean self indulgent, it doesnt make sense. And if op can give it out, shell have to take it too.

Nicknamegrief · 18/08/2013 23:59

Katie Price was/is pregnant, where I have I been ....

Don't stress, if anyone knows who she is in 15 years time I'll be shocked.

Anjou · 18/08/2013 23:57

Wow. How incredibly rude and self indulgent some people on this website are. The OP isn't asking you what you think of her child's name, so I'm not really sure why some of you have taken it upon yourself to tell her how much you dislike it and yet haven't actually responded to her post. Are you expecting her to change it because some strangers on the Internet don't like it, or is it just that you like being spiteful?

OP, I totally get why you feel like this right now but in a few years time, I doubt many people (whose opinions you give a toss about) will have any recollection of her kids names. It's a distinctive name and I'm sure your DS will make it his own. Smile

Lighthousekeeping · 18/08/2013 23:32

Something very conventional I bet

jett was already a bit of a stupid name before kp used it really

meditrina · 18/08/2013 23:17

Perhaps it's an homage to the current advert (featuring a deliberately bad version of that Joan Jett single)

elQuintoConyo · 18/08/2013 23:17

I think you need to get over yourself.
And stop being so cruel.
IMVHO.
