Sophie or Laura

Some thoughts please! I don't know what I'm having, but will leave boys names until another day.

I like both names and would choose Sophie straight away if it wasn't for it's popularity. This is my first baby and so don't have loads to do with lots of small children - will there be loads of babies called Sophie and should I avoid it because of this?

I like Laura as it is simple and not as 'pretty' as Sophie. However, middle name is chosen based on family link and is quite fuss-free too so not sure if it will go as well as Sophie would. Surname is one syllable if that makes a difference...

Thanks

Laura. Sophie is a bit bland.

Laura will be so unusual and lovely now.

Both are lovely though I do prefer Sophie.
However, so do lots of other people so it is much more popular than Laura.
Saying that, so far I have only come across 2 Sophie's compared to 1 Laura in the baby groups DS goes to.

Both lovely. Sophie is exquisite. It may be popular, but that's because t is classic.
