2012 Top 100 Baby Names

My daughter is within top 100, but not top 10.
Neither DF or I seem to be on this list, but my spelling is a tad different from the original, so will look again.

My sisters name is in here.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Jo178 · 12/08/2013 21:15

DD is number 10, DH is number 53 and I'm not in it at all. Smile

sleepyhead · 12/08/2013 21:11

Ds1 just makes the top 100 but none of the rest of us are there.

We're in Scotland though and both the ds's are solid top 50 names here.

Don't think anyone's had my name for a few years now.

Lozza70 · 12/08/2013 21:04

None of us are on the list of top 100's but I'll bet both DH and I would be on a list from the 70's! DS1 is nowhere on the entire list from this year but there were only 4 boys with the same name as him the year he was born. DS2 is around the 200 mark but funny enough there is another wee boy in his nursery with the same name.....

I think you just have to love the names you have chosen and never mind if they are popular.

Ikeameatballs · 12/08/2013 21:02

Ex-p, me, and dd not in lists.

I can't see beyond 100 on this but dd will probably be between 100-150 as she was approx 95h and falling when born and she is 7 now.

Ds is top 20, fallen slightly since he was born.

I have never been to 100 though think. Might be on the gradual increase.

Ex-p was pretty popular for his time but not now (much like him, ha, ha!)

emsyj · 12/08/2013 21:00

On the full statistics linked to above MissStrawberry - it's a spreadsheet.

emsyj · 12/08/2013 20:57

I'm at 50. DH, DD1 and DD2 don't feature - DD1 at 300 and something and DD2 and 400 and something, not looked up DH but they all have 'ordinary' and not unusual names that just aren't especially popular at the moment.

MissStrawberry · 12/08/2013 20:57

Where can you see how many of each name were born please?

Tiredemma · 12/08/2013 20:55

Ds 1 number 1
Ds 2 number 7

Dd1 (not born yet!) will either be 1 or 65 or 34.

KateF · 12/08/2013 20:49

dd1 is in the top 10-her name rocketed in popularity when she was about five. dd3, exh and I are all in the 100-200 bracket and dd2 is outside the top 1000. I don't think her name is anything particularly unusual, it's just not in fashion, although I notice the Polish version is higher up the chart.

treaclesoda · 12/08/2013 20:48

DH, DD and DS are in it. Was surprised (and pleased!) at how low down DS's name is, I thought it was more popular than it is.

I'm not on the list although I bet I would be if it was 1912 rather than 2012

stopprocrastinating · 12/08/2013 20:44

I'm top 100. DH isn't, but would have been popular when he was born. Much more popular than my name at school. DD is top 10.

FreedomOfTheTess · 12/08/2013 20:39

DS1 = #3
DS2 = #27
DD1 = #95
DD2 = #241

Me = #546
DH = #118

absentmindeddooooodles · 12/08/2013 20:36

Yep. Me, ds and my mum sister and brother are. Also my ds' s dad. Dp isnt. Disnt think any of us had typically popular names!
Never met any one else with the same name as ds either!

MrsMaryCooper · 12/08/2013 20:36

DS in top twenty. Neither DH nor I are in the top 100. We don't have unusual names in our peer group.

mydoorisalwaysopen · 12/08/2013 20:35

DS 1+2 are both top twenty. Me and DH not on the list but no-one would ever comment that our names are unusual.

Fanjango · 12/08/2013 20:35

Dd2 in the top 50, ds2 in the top 80. Dd1 and ds1 not there and neither are me or dp

Pachacuti · 12/08/2013 20:34

I am. But I've never met another one of me over the age of about ten and spent my childhood being met with "you what?". DH and the DCs aren't.

LynetteScavo · 12/08/2013 20:34

Only 76 boys called Jeremy? What is wrong with people - it's a brilliant name.

I'm really surprised there are only 50something boys with DSs middle name. I would have thought it would be much more popular.

acrabadabra · 12/08/2013 20:33

Ds is top 30. Dd is not on the list.

Dh and I have 70's names so not on the lists but due a comeback in a decade or so Grin

MrsOakenshield · 12/08/2013 20:30

see, this is why I think it's daft when people deliberately choose unpopular names - you just don't know how unpopular they will remain. Who cares! If it's a name you love, then that's all that matters, surely.

DesperatelySeekingSedatives · 12/08/2013 20:29

DP, DS and I are not. DD is. Ds's middle name is there though.

the name thing doesnt bother me much. we chose names we liked, DD's is pretty popular. it's a good name [shrug]

VixZenFenchell · 12/08/2013 20:28

DSs both in top 10. Mine and DPs not in there at all.

bridgetsmum · 12/08/2013 20:27

I'm no 94, but the other 4 in the family aren't on the lists

MissStrawberry · 12/08/2013 20:17

One son in top 10.

One daughter in top 25.

One son in top 45.

Dh nor I are in the top 100.

TallulahBetty · 12/08/2013 20:17

Neither of us. DD's name is in the top 30.
