Juno Violet or Iris Clementine

I'm almost (almostWink) embarrassed to be starting another thread. But I'm nearly there with this naming malarkey!

So we have it down to these two. I love them both. We want something unusual but not ridiculously so, I think that both of these fit the bill. Though I think Iris runs the risk of entering the top100.

With regards to Juno the movie thing does not bother us at all so please don't let that sway your choice!

Thing about Juno is it makes me think you're saying "d'you know?".

WideScreenViper · 08/08/2013 19:48

I do like both. Juno does not at all sound masculine, but does sound quite the opposite of ethereal! Also quite like the female equivalent of Hugo. I also have an irrational dislike of the name Violet, so Iris Clementine wins for me. Also I know a Clementine and there has never been any teasing about her name.

NationMcKinley · 08/08/2013 19:46

In order of preference mine are:
Juno (would have been DC3's name if he'd been a girl)
Violet (this was a close second for us!)
Iris ( love it but wouldn't have gone with our surname)
Clementine. meh.

Juno violet - beautiful. Sounds strong but very feminine at the same time. My DD name is Violet, so I'm biased there!

I love iris, but I think it would date more than Juno.

scripsi · 08/08/2013 19:34

Juno Violet is amazing.

Does not sound at all butch!

fuzzle · 08/08/2013 19:33

Iris or Violet not Juno for me

Mollie272 · 08/08/2013 19:30

Juno Clementine for me - really like it

formicadinosaur · 08/08/2013 11:45

Violet clementine is lovely

ems1910 · 05/08/2013 20:18

Violet Clementine for me

dollarmermaid · 05/08/2013 19:14

Violet is lovely!

I had Gretal on my long list , good luck in deciding

LaRosaBella · 05/08/2013 19:08

Agree that Juno sounds strong, but not masculine at all.

LaRosaBella · 05/08/2013 19:07

I LOVE Juno, not too sure about either of the middle names but clementine is probably my favourite. Ezra is also my favourite boys name.

pesta · 05/08/2013 19:02

Iris Clementine sounds lovely.

OrangeJuiceSandwich · 05/08/2013 18:47

Juno is the goddess of childbirth. Each women had a Juno who was like their guardian Angel. Definetly not a butch name at all Grin

It's a strong name. I love that. Names like Clementine are frilly. Names like Juno sound beautiful yet still powerful.

FingersCrossedLegsNot · 05/08/2013 16:18

I think I am starting to lean towards Juno Violet.

Do any of you think Juno sounds masculine....I know that ending in an O is usually masculine but does it actually sound butch to you.

I think it has an ethereal feel to it but that could be just me and my fanciful mind!!!

Typo. Clementine.

OrangeJuiceSandwich · 05/08/2013 11:33

Juno Violet.

Clammy Clemmie and oranges are all I think for Flementine.

ravenAK · 05/08/2013 02:05

Violet Clementine - definitely best of both.

BeyonceCastle · 05/08/2013 02:03

Juno Clementine

or Iris Juno

Love Juno and Clementine because of the films, latter being eternal sunshine even though Kate Winslett was a bit annoying.

Iris - as you know from last thread - love most flower names, the exception to the rule being Violet for irrational reasons as it looks and smells beautiful.

But Violet/Vi reminds me of Just William how old am i
and god rest her soul Bonnie Langford used to get on my nerves.
Plus Violet in Willy Wonka's a little madam and even in the Incredibles she's shrinking.
And I don't like parma violets most disgusting 'sweet' EVER

i did say it was irrational - don't get me started on Bluebell Grin

Amy106 · 05/08/2013 01:48

I would vote for Juno Violet.

Juno Violet - love it.

Not keen on Clementine, as I never know whether to pronounce it teen or tyne at the end. And a friend's girl is known as Clemmie, which with a NZ accent sounds a lot like clammy.

telsa · 04/08/2013 23:43

Juno Violet....YESSS! It is fabulous.

FingersCrossedLegsNot · 04/08/2013 22:58

Petra...it's the exact same situation with me, dh prefers Iris!

They are both on my list!! I love Juno, DH prefers Iris. I'm not sure that Juno "flows" right with Violet though; it seems to call for a three syllable middle name.
