Really struggling for girls names

rowtunda · 02/08/2013 12:28

I seem to be the only person who struggles with girls names. Boys names I have sorted but I just don't seem to like any female names. My criteria is that I want a strong sounding name, nothing too frilly or flowery, something that a child can grow into and a tiny bit feminist!

Ahhhhh . . . when I was pregnant with DS last time I quite liked Ivy, Olive & Frida but I've gone off these now. My DH likes french names like Delphine and Cecille but I'm not so sure.

What do you think? Any suggestions

Any wish to reveal DS's name so we can see the kind of name DH does like? .

That means it a girl I'm afraid - We had no problem choosing girls names with both our boys but were equally convinced that they were boys when i was pregnant, which they were. I think we just found it easier to choose names that we wouldn't have to use ;)

Thurlow · 02/08/2013 15:33

Are there any boys names you could use the feminine version of?

rowtunda · 02/08/2013 15:29

Thanks for the suggestions keep them coming - not had any thunderbolts as yet.

I wonder whether it is a boy because choosing a boys name has not really been an issue

I hated every single girls name when I was pregnant luckily I had a boy or she would have been called 'girl' Smile

Now I'm not pregnant there are loads of girls names I like

From your list I absolutely love Olive
