Family name but opinions invited.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsBungle · 02/08/2013 00:22

NAY. It is truly terrible.

Wbdn28 · 02/08/2013 00:16

Yay. It's a good solid name and not overused.

Alisvolatpropiis · 01/08/2013 23:26

Nay.

Just no.

Rhubarbgarden · 01/08/2013 23:12

Up there with Keith, Alan and Colin. It will take another generation to rehabilitate these names.

Used to work with a Roy. Had to leave my position because of him

monniemae · 01/08/2013 23:02

Yay! I have a cat called Roy and have already debated whether we could call firstborn after the cat... (but it's a girl). Great middle name too if you aren't sure. And what about Roy of the I.T. Crowd fame? I love it. (Also love Ray.)

Ikeameatballs · 01/08/2013 22:26

My Dad is a Roy. He is lovely but squoosh's description wasn't far off!

And he doesn't like his name.

MyBoysAreFab · 01/08/2013 22:24

Nay!!!! What about Rory instead?

LazyMonkeyButler · 01/08/2013 22:23

That's a firm nay by the way.

LazyMonkeyButler · 01/08/2013 22:22

I take it you don't watch Coronation Street?

Roy Cropper anyone?

Bowlersarm · 01/08/2013 22:21

Ha ha squoosh very funny. I can just imagine his 'wide Marjorie'- the description fits her perfectly.

BeanoNoir · 01/08/2013 22:20

Rory?

filee777 · 01/08/2013 22:20

Nope dislike

squoosh · 01/08/2013 22:17

60 something who washes and waxes his Ford Mondeo every Saturday and then brings his wide Marjorie out for a spin on a Sunday. They bring their own flask and sandwiches, he's not one of those fools who pays silly money for a new fangled Panini! 'You might as well throw your money away Marjorie'.

KnittedC · 01/08/2013 22:16

I like it

nurseneedshelp · 01/08/2013 22:16

Nay

Taffeta · 01/08/2013 22:15

I prefer Ray.

Still18atheart · 01/08/2013 22:14

Nay

Bowlersarm · 01/08/2013 22:14

Nay.

Roy doesn't sound like a cool teen. Roy doesn't sound like a trendy 20 something. He doesn't sound like a popular 30 year old family man.

He sounds a bit like a retired 70 year old!

DamnDeDoubtance · 01/08/2013 22:11

What about Royston.

Casmama · 01/08/2013 22:08

No - it makes me think of Roy from eastenders

Allalonenow · 01/08/2013 22:07

Nay nay nay

ShadeofViolet · 01/08/2013 22:06

Awful, sorry.

Where I used to work we had to have aliases and the office jerk chose Roy.

Kikibee · 01/08/2013 22:05

No, nor reg either
