Let me have it! What do you think of Herb for a boy. Can't do Herbert. Really stumped for boys names!

There was a Herb at ds's nursery.

Never did find out if it was a nn or his full name.

I've a work colleague called Herb, he seems OK with it. But we are in Canada and lots of people have names that seem slightly odd to my ears.

Herbert is fine - shortened to Herb if you will (though prefer Bertie).

But Herb as a name???? NO. He won't thank you when he's older.

I like Herbie. I don't see a problem with it as the full name as this is a generation of Alfies, Charlies and Archies etc so will hardly raise eyebrows in the future.

Americans seem to pronounce the same 'herb', but say 'erbs' for herbs. This has always baffled me.

Don't like it.

Herbie might be cute for a toddler but he would have to change his name aged about 3.
