Would the initials VD be wrong

Or is that an old term for STI. I don't want a child to be lumbered with embarrassing initials.

Not saying Op should use it rather that it has greater negative connotations for older people don't really rate wiki as a source tbh Smile but accept the argument that it is not yet obsolete enough to maybe use.

Seriously? You would be mad to use the initials VD! The term is not obsolete! Look at Wikipedia, under "Sexually transmitted disease", it's referred to on there! NO NO NO!

Well, if you google "VD" the results are overwhelmingly venereal (Urban Dictionary has this definition "Something that Bishops and Generals catch from public toilet seats. The rest of us can catch it from fucking prostitutes.")

Yes, it's slowly becoming the less common term. No, the association has far from vanished and probably won't do so for quite some time to come.

I think anyone under 30 wouldn't know what VD is

I'm closer to 40 and we called them STDs at school so I had to think about it

By the time your lo reaches the end of primary I would say it would be totally obsolete and fine to use

Kids these days are familiar with STD but many do not know that VD is the same. Its kind of dying out. POAS is just as bad!
