ONS Baby Names 2012?

Anybody know when they are going to publish the data on baby names for 2012? I remember they'd published it by this time last year.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Thank you twister and kitten. I wonder how it would look if all the names were amalgamated I.e. Lillie, lily, lily- Mae, Lillie-rose etc. Amelia plus Amelie would be huge!

HorryIsUpduffed · 13/08/2013 08:20

Annie there was a Neveyah on CBeebies birthdays at the weekend.

delasi · 12/08/2013 23:52

Shock DS' name is now top 100! How did this happen?!

Well, in our circles and neighbourhood we get a lot of surprise reactions so perhaps they're all elsewhere Grin Off to work out the ONS breakdown...

Thinking about it now the same thing happened with DM and my name, she spent ages choosing then picked it for all sorts of significance... ended up being the no. 1 name for girls within a 2 mile radius Hmm Every time my name was called in the school corridor another 10 girls would turn around.

AnnieLobeseder · 12/08/2013 23:50

Sorry, 121. There are 483 new ones out there.

And only 30 Susans.

What's wrong with the world!?!

AnnieLobeseder · 12/08/2013 23:41

Oh no no no no no no! I'm emigrating immediately.

Nevaeh is 122.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

looki · 12/08/2013 23:31

I haven't had time to read this whole thread but had a look at the stats. I'm so surprised by some of them being so underused. I expected names like Molly-May and Amy-Leigh to be low on the list but am really surprised to see names like Caroline being so low. Its very puzzling. I'd have thought Caroline was a good solid name that bypassed popularity trends.

KittenofDoom · 12/08/2013 23:30

67 x Margot
13 x Margaux
4 x Margo

salvadory · 12/08/2013 23:25

How many Margot's please? Or how can I search via iPhone (I have the list but after trawling and finding margo only I gave up.

KittenofDoom · 12/08/2013 23:20

52 x Bridget
3 x Bridgette
4 x Brigita
26 x Bridie

No Brigitte, Birgit, Birgitte or Brigid showing up.

Diamond7 · 12/08/2013 23:12

Sorry, seen answer above!

Diamond7 · 12/08/2013 23:05

Does this go off registering birth or DOB?

BOF · 12/08/2013 23:03

One Night Stand names?

Twister28 · 12/08/2013 23:02

52 Brigets.

theresmoretome · 12/08/2013 22:31

Can someone who can search the full list tell me how many Bridgets there were? Thank you!

PattieOfurniture · 12/08/2013 22:29

Ds1 name is now in the top 100 but was just about in the top 500 when we named him
Ds2 was born in 2012 but his name isn't on the list at all, I've tried various spellings too, none found

NotMyChashkaChai · 12/08/2013 22:27

Mooshe - it's registered in 2012. My dd was also born in 2012 but wasn't registered until 2013 so she doesn't count for the purposes of these stats. However if your dd has an extremely unusual name and there are less than 3 of them registered this year then it still won't show up on the stats next year as ons do not publish these details (to preserve anonymity)

ababycalledbrian · 12/08/2013 22:26

3 baby Awsomes! My husband says he likes to imagine that some day they'll meet on a windswept mountain top for epic sword battle to decide which is the most awesome of all.

dollybird · 12/08/2013 22:13

My name is in the top 100 along with the more usual spelling which has an h. My DM thought it was different - wrong! Has bugged me all my life when people add the h, even when replying to an e-mail from me!!

MoosheKoochak · 12/08/2013 22:13

Does anyone know if this is for babies born in 2012 or registered in 2012? I'm just interested as DD was born in 2012 and registered in 2013. Her name is unusual, but I'm surprised not to see it there at all.

Sorry if it says clearly and I'm being dense!

worldcitizen · 12/08/2013 21:22

Freedom it's like in Arabic Hawa right? Which is Eve in Arabic. Would that be also the meaning in hebrew?

MollyBerry · 12/08/2013 20:55

224 called INAAYA. I've never heard that name before...

FriskyHenderson · 12/08/2013 20:51

24 baby Elvis Grin

FairPhyllis · 12/08/2013 20:42

97 girls named 'Princess' Hmm

KittenofDoom · 12/08/2013 20:40

Sebastiaan is Dutch.

JambalayaCodfishPie · 12/08/2013 20:39

DD2 (born 2012) has jumped 11 places but is still way outside the top 100.
