Kit, Wilfred or Diggory... If you hate all 3, stay away!

Any opinions? Am too tired to be slated if you hate them all! I think we might chicken out and do Diggory as a second name, but dh loves the nn Digger and we know a Diggory, so it probably seems less unusual to us than it might do to others!

Love Kit and Wilfred. No no no no no to Diggory

thegreylady · 26/07/2013 21:02

I like Kit short for Kester and I love Diggory too. Wilf(red) is nice but In think it will be difficult to carry off.

squoosh · 26/07/2013 21:01

Wilfred always reminds me of Wilfred Owen and for that I reason I see it as being a very sad name.

sonlypuppyfat · 26/07/2013 21:00

Diggory?

hurricanemum · 26/07/2013 20:59

Kit!

CheerfulYank · 26/07/2013 20:55

I like Diggory! :)

Wow, ouch. Didn't think I really cared what other people thought about names - personal choice and all that. But slightly blinking at that.

Kit

Not Diggory. Awful (sorry, but I really think it's one of the worst names that has popped up on here)

ZolaBuddleia · 26/07/2013 14:41

I also wouldn't risk Christopher, as I hate Chris and Topher is pretentious in the extreme. Love Kit though.

Diggory - how close is your relationship to the one you know? It's so unusual, might they feel a bit like you've copied? Agreed, Digger is ace.

Wilfred - I only like Wilf, but I REALLY like it.

Frettchen · 26/07/2013 14:38

I love Diggory (have just named my puppy Digby and he gets called Digger some times)

Kit is also great, although as a previous poster said, Christopher might lead to 'Chris' or 'Topher' as NNs so be prepared in case it doesn't work out the way you want it to.

Not keen on Wilf/Wilfred.

FoxyRevenger · 26/07/2013 14:22

Oh, I love love love Kit. But I have a Kate so couldn't use it for DS.

Wilfred...not great.

Diggory...really, really no.

squoosh · 26/07/2013 14:20

I know a Digby and always think 'Biggest Dog in the World'.

notso · 26/07/2013 14:16

I LOVE Digby but DH vetoed, I think it's nicer than Diggory.

Kit is ok, but many, many mumsnetters love it.

Wilfred/Wilf don't like I much prefer Alfred/Alfie.

KnittedWaffle · 26/07/2013 14:11

Kit!

willyoulistentome · 26/07/2013 14:08

Kit's great. The other two - not so great.

AKissIsNotAContract · 26/07/2013 14:07

I like Diggory.

JacqueslePeacock · 26/07/2013 14:04

Kit short for Christopher. Much nicer than the other two I'd say.

NobodyPutsTomArcherInTheCorner · 26/07/2013 14:03

Kit. But as a nn for Christopher.

Big no from me for the other two though, sorry.

EatYourCrusts · 26/07/2013 14:02

I like Kit best.

mamaknows · 26/07/2013 14:00

Has to be Kit for me, absolutely love it!

Not really as keen on the other two names though I'm afraid.

Bowlersarm · 26/07/2013 13:15

Kit.

Great name. Smile

Sorry but don't like the other two.

Still18atheart · 26/07/2013 13:14

Think all three are great names but in order of preference
Kit
Diggory

valiumredhead · 26/07/2013 13:09
