When you think of Elizabeth, what looks and character do you instantly imagine?

Beautiful, understated, elegant, timeless. Smile

Then there's Lizzy. Confused

LittleprincessinGOLDrocks · 27/07/2013 21:29

My DD (well it's her middle name). A chatter box, who works hard at school and cares for others.

Writerwannabe83 · 27/07/2013 21:19

I think of Elizabeth from Pirates of the Carribean and that irks me because I can't stand Kiera Knightley!! Grin

EuphemiaLennox · 27/07/2013 17:58

Blond, slim, elegant, classy, well educated, wearing a tennis dress and drinking gin and tonics at The Club.

rob99 · 27/07/2013 16:56

Ginger, pale, loads of freckles and quite sickly/poorly-looking....sort of Irish/scouser looking.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 27/07/2013 16:39

I loved books about the Tudors so always imagined Elizabeth as pale with red hair and long artistic fingers who danced and rode and carried herself very proud and upright.

Then Elizabeth from P&P always brunette with sparkling eyes who loved walking and dancing.

And Our Dear Queen of course.

Alisvolatpropiis · 27/07/2013 11:26

The Queen

SirChenjin · 26/07/2013 21:16

The Queen, Bennett or Taylor.

I love the name Smile

Passmethecrisps · 26/07/2013 21:14

My mum is Beth. DD has Elizabeth as middle name. Obviously I like it!

squeak2392 · 26/07/2013 21:12

Elizabeth Bennett for me as well.
Young, pretty and clever :)

mummybare · 26/07/2013 17:55

Beautiful inside and out!

But seriously, we chose it because it has so many nns - an Elizabeth can be anyone she wants to be. She might be a cheeky Betty, a sweet Lizzy a tough Lizbeth or an elegant Elizabeth. I don't regret choosing it for a second.

celticclan · 26/07/2013 17:46

Blonde, middle class, sensible, close to her family.

ohwheely · 26/07/2013 17:33

I do think it's fairly timeless/ageless in general.

ohwheely · 26/07/2013 17:32

Elizabeth Corday from ER i.e. a doctor / Alex Kingston

Bowlersarm · 26/07/2013 17:20

An older lady, quite prim and proper. Not much fun. Totally different to a Liz, or Beth, or Eliza.

Our middle ds would have been Elizabeth, but we would have shortened it to Libby.

itsallshitandmoreshit · 26/07/2013 17:19

Old-fashioned, hard-faced, stiff. In other words the Queen, it would seem.

ZingWidge · 26/07/2013 17:17

my15 months old DD is Elizabeth - and she is gorgeous, cheeky, stubborn, cute and adorable and has chubby legs, beautiful blue eyes, a sweet smile and pretty, curly hair on the back of her head.
(and currently fast asleep on the kitchen floorGrin )

Morgause · 26/07/2013 17:06

My gt grandmother. A stern Victorian lady but staggeringly beautiful when she was young, from the photos I've seen.

ChippingInHopHopHop · 26/07/2013 17:00

11/12 years old, geeky, bit pedantic & annoying.

Beth is nice though :)

OrlaNuttin · 26/07/2013 16:57

I almost used Elizabeth for my dd, but she looked more like our other fav name. It's a beautiful name but when I read your question, I immediately thought Elizabeth wakefield.

Sweet Valley High flashback!

squoosh · 26/07/2013 13:32

Frumpy, cross, prematurely wizened, wears twin sets, punctures any footballs that end up in her garden.

JC74 · 26/07/2013 13:10

My beautiful daughter! I chose Elizabeth because of its versatility. My daughter is known as Beth but I wanted her to have a 'proper' name. I've always loved the name Beth since I read Little Women as a child :)

AlicesNextDoorNeighbour · 26/07/2013 13:03

Stuck up, middle aged/elderly, frumpy

NorbertDentressangle · 26/07/2013 12:39

Sensible (even veering towards the prim and proper in some cases)

Frikadellen · 26/07/2013 12:36

I think redhair freckles and bright happy smile (dd3's close friend)
