Not sure how I feel about using my boys name, George, if Kate and William use it. Am I being stupid or would this put you off? Not due until December so is it a big deal??

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

The Queen Mother was over 100 when she died but the DofE is 92. I don't think longevity is a problem here. Particularly since the Prince of Wales is so obsessed with organic farming etc.

Chubfuddler · 22/07/2013 22:36

I would think it more than possible he will die before his mother.

WetAugust · 22/07/2013 22:32

Can you explain please Chub?

Chubfuddler · 22/07/2013 22:29

Charles won't ever be king so that doesn't matter.

Zynzong · 22/07/2013 22:28

it'd be confusing though. prince Charles is king George. Prince George would still be Prince George. or Duke George. ?? but still George.

Richard is a good solicd name that is very unfashionable at the moment. so I reckon it will be Richard.

fatfingers · 22/07/2013 22:27

Surely we can't have a Prince Albert though? Not given the modern meaning of the phrase!

Bowlersarm · 22/07/2013 22:25

lostinindia allegedly, Prince Charles has shown a preference of becoming King George vii when he becomes King. He is able to chose , Charles' have not got a great history as kings and he wants to honour his grandfather/great grandfather, or something along those lines.

Although I suppose just because he becomes King George it doesn't mean that his grandson couldn't be a George as well.

LucyLastik · 22/07/2013 22:19

In expecting Spencer in there somewhere

thegreylady · 22/07/2013 22:16

You are right Ed the eighth was David George V1 was Bertie so presumably Albert.

Zynzong · 22/07/2013 21:46

Frederick, Richard or david

LazyMonkeyButler · 22/07/2013 21:36

I think Albert nn Albie or Alfred nn Alfie.

Middle names are almost pre-picked for them I would think - probably featuring Philip & Charles.

WetAugust · 22/07/2013 21:32

I think he'll be called Henry after his brother Prince Harry (who is actually a Henry).

The 2 brothers are very close.

Amongst the other names I would expect William, Charles, Philip and Michael.

soontobeslendergirl · 22/07/2013 21:30

Ha Ha - neither there is :o

HorryIsUpduffed · 22/07/2013 21:30

It was abdicating Edward who was known as David... not good history on that!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 22/07/2013 21:29

thegreylady · 22/07/2013 21:26

David would be great after George 6th

soontobeslendergirl · 22/07/2013 21:26

Take your pick:

Maybe Ethelred is due a comeback :)

thegreylady · 22/07/2013 21:25

He is Charles Philip Arthur George

soontobeslendergirl · 22/07/2013 21:24

I thought about Frederick, but there is already a Frederick Windsor so thought maybe Alfred but known as Freddie?

Parisbanana · 22/07/2013 21:24

I don't think they'll call him David because then you get those people making connections with David Cameron....too political.

NadiaWadia · 22/07/2013 21:23

If it has to be after a previous royal, how about Richard? Time we had another of those!

But I bet they'll go for George.

CajaDeLaMemoria · 22/07/2013 21:23

They think it'll be Frederick, apparently.

I wouldn't worry for a while, honestly.

lostinindia · 22/07/2013 21:22

What Prince Charles thing?

HorryIsUpduffed · 22/07/2013 21:21

I'm having just this dilemma - we have settled on another royal boy name. I was desperately hoping they'd have a girl for purely selfish reasons Blush
