Flora.....do you just think of a tub of margarine?

Oooh I'd forgotten about the Jilly Cooper books.

I am pleased that marg isn't the first thing that springs to mind for some of you. The name is in my top 5 and I'm really tempted to use it this time around.

My daughter is called Flora and no one even mentions marg!

No. Feisty Jilly Cooper heroine, which might put some off!

I think it's absolutely beautiful.

It makes me think of the marg, but once people get to know her they will stop associating it. I went to school with a girl called Floren which is a mix of Flora and Erin (her parents couldn't decide so mixed the two apparently) but I think it's quite a nice alternative to Flora.

I think of Flora MacDonald. Although if her sister was called Clover, I might start to wonder.
